Huge congratulations to Cale Black for West Ward and Big Don's Smoked Meats on winning the Bayswater West Ward council seats! Well deserved, and I’m excited to see what you’ll both achieve for our community.

A massive thank you to all the nominees who put their hand up to serve our community - it takes courage and commitment to step into the arena. And congratulations to all the other new councillors elected across Bayswater!

What an experience! I finished fourth, just 41 votes away from third - so close! Being involved in and watching the local government election process unfold has been super fun and incredibly educational. If I decide to run in two years’ time, we’ll definitely be doing a LOT more prep before nominating 😜

For now, this means I can focus on doing more property work off council while keeping the council on their toes from the outside. I’m genuinely looking forward to working with our new council on heaps more projects that will benefit our community!

Here’s to great local representation and exciting times ahead for Bayswater! 🙌

🎉 EXCITING NEWS FOR BAYSWATER 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that Development Approval has been granted for 16, 18 & 20 Beechboro Road South, Bayswater in the Bayswater Bridge District

As the representative for the property owners, I'm proud to share that the developer has successfully secured approval for an impressive mixed-use development:
✨ Nine-storey building
✨ 73 modern apartments
✨ Medical centre
✨ Retail shops

This journey began 6 years ago when 12 community members came together to secure this property from the Long family. For the past 3 years, we’ve been proud custodians of this site - providing a home for Future Bayswater and the 6053 Pantry, and hosting countless community events and meetings.

Today marks a proud milestone as our hard work advocating for quality development and improved amenity begins to take shape. This project represents thoughtful urban development that will enhance our community for years to come.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this vision a reality! 🥳

Our responsibility to protect wildlife starts with awareness 🦎🦜

Today was a stark reminder of how vulnerable our wildlife is. I picked up this beautiful bobtail after watching it dart across the road, and last month stopped to check on red-tail black cockatoos that weren’t so lucky after being hit by a car.

Vehicles are one of the biggest threats to our native animals and our pets. As a community, we need to do better - and our council has a responsibility to provide us with the information and resources we need to protect them.

What we can do:
• Slow down, especially in wildlife-prone areas
• Review on and off-lead sections for dogs
• Keep your cats inside at night
• Stay alert during dawn and dusk when animals are most active
• Report injured wildlife to local rescue services
• Advocate for wildlife crossings and warning signage

What council should provide:
• Clear information on local wildlife hotspots
• Emergency contact numbers for wildlife rescue
• Education programs for residents
• Proper signage in high-risk areas

Every native animal matters. Every pet matters. Let’s work together to make our roads safer for all creatures who call this place home.

Well done Boobalicious Ball 🎉🎉🎉 definitely the best ball of the year by far… and for an amazing cause 🥰

Hats off to Malcolm Day & Peta Evans for raising a huge amount for Breast Cancer WA, supporting women and families in the toughest of times.

Our table was lucky enough to get the Wildcats Box in the auction 😎 thanks to Cassie Silver throwing us under the bus (for a good cause).

Mental health support has always been close to my heart, and I’m proud to support organisations like Happiness Co that make a real difference in our community.

A few years back, I had the pleasure of organising a charity showing of Aladdin where our team dressed up as Disney characters and partnered with local businesses for a raffle. It was an incredible experience that brought the community together for such an important cause.

Since then, I’ve continued volunteering at various Happiness Co events, and I’m excited to be attending Gala on October 25th for the fourth time! 🎉

Organisations like Happiness Co provide vital services that help people navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and become their best selves. Everyone deserves access to quality mental health support, and I’m grateful to be part of a community that recognizes and supports this mission.

If you’re able to support or get involved with Happiness Co, I encourage you to check out their work. Together, we can make a difference.

What a beautiful collection of local knowledge! 📚✨

Just picked up “Birralyn Kaartadjin: Bayswater Knowledge” and “Place Names in Bayswater” – two stunning books celebrating our region’s rich Indigenous heritage and stories.

The larger edition dives deep into local Nyungar knowledge, while the pocket-sized “Place Names” guide is perfect for exploring our community’s true history.

Huge thanks to the Community Arts Network, Moodjar, and all the project participants who shared their knowledge to create these important resources.

📍 Grab your copy at City of Bayswater libraries – plenty of the pocket guides available!

🙏 HUGE Thank You to my fellow West Ward candidate, Big Don! 🙏

What an incredible day at today’s fundraiser for the Morley Markets businesses who lost everything in the recent fire.

The turnout, the community spirit, the amazing food, and the generosity shown today was absolutely heartwarming! 💙

Big Don's Smoked Meats - you and your team absolutely smashed it! Organising such a fantastic event and bringing everyone together for such a worthy cause. The raffle was epic, and seeing the community rally around those who need our support right now was truly special.

To everyone who came out, donated, volunteered, and supported - you’re all legends! This is what community is all about and raised over $100k🌟

(And yes, I was one of the lucky ones who scored a meat tray earlier this week! 😜🥩)

To the Morley Markets businesses affected - we’re standing with you, and we’ll help you rebuild! 💪

🎨 Don’t miss this incredible exhibition! 🎨

Opening TODAY, Saturday 4th October, 2-5pm at The Laneway Artspace!

Last night I was honoured to attend the VIP opening and witness the absolute passion and love from Ellen’s family and close friends which was extremely moving 🥰

Through intimate close-up portrayals, Ellen McFeridge’s work celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of these native seed cones while raising vital awareness about dieback and the urgent need to protect our precious bushland.

📍 Laneway Artspace, entry off rear laneway of 5 King William St, Bayswater (opposite Bayswater train station)
🗓️ Runs until Sunday 19th October
⏰ Opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday, 11am - 3pm

This is a beautiful opportunity to experience the passion and artistry of an incredible artist and her important environmental message. The Laneway Artsoace has done exceptional work showcasing Ellen’s talent and story.

Support local art, learn, and be inspired!

Out and about in Bayswater today! 🚪💙

Had an amazing time door knocking and connecting with our community around the river, across the Tonkin, and before Ashfield with my wonderful friend Sandrine.

There’s nothing quite like hearing directly from locals about what matters most to you. Your ideas, your concerns, your vision for our community - that’s what drives this campaign.

We’re bringing fresh energy and exciting new initiatives to local council, and today reminded me why this work is so important. Every conversation, every doorstep, every person who took the time to chat with us - thank you! 🙏

Together, we’re building something special. 💪
