Today is Graduation Day at Batchelor Institute!

Following Mabo Day yesterday, we stand together in the same hall where generations before us celebrated their milestones. The spirit of resilience and self-determination honoured on Mabo Day lives on in our graduates, who have walked the path of Both Ways education. They blend deep cultural knowledge with academic excellence to emerge as leaders ready to serve their communities on Country.

Congratulations to the class of 2026! Your knowledge, your culture and your future light the way.

Three days until our Batchelor Campus Graduation Ceremony on 4 June 2026.

Did you know in 1983 the first Council meeting was held in the Art/Craft room?

Elders, students, lecturers and leaders sat together to shape an institution that would truly serve Indigenous Australian communities.

That spirit of shared decision-making and cultural leadership still guides every graduate today.

Four days until our Batchelor Campus Graduation Ceremony on 4 June 2026.

Meet Sylvia Tabua, a Screen and Media student at Batchelor Institute.

Watch her share why she chose us and how the support here made all the difference:
“Batchelor Institute has some great facilities… they provide meals, breakfast lunch and dinner… travel for students… a kindy for parents… 24-hour security… and they’ve got some great support from the staff here especially for students who might be homesick. Batchelor Institute is really like a home away from home… I love the environment, I love listening to the birds singing in the morning… you can really focus on your studies and just focus on yourself as well.”

Sylvia came to upgrade her skills in media and found a place that truly looks after its students.

If you’re thinking about taking that step, this is your sign.

Five days until our Batchelor Campus Graduation Ceremony on 4 June 2026.

Watch Aldress Donald, who graduated with a Certificate III in Community Services (CHC32015) at our Desert Peoples Centre in Alice Springs, share his straight-from-the-heart message to future students:

"If you want to go anywhere, travel the world, get an education.”

Aldress chose community services so he could build a better future for his community. His words are proof that when you take that step, real change starts.
