πŸ”₯ Monday Night Training πŸ”₯

On Monday night, our crew had a valuable opportunity to practise their skills while helping the local community.

Our members conducted a controlled burn-off at the Barmera Golf Club, disposing of green waste collected from the golf course and hospital sites.

Before lighting the pile, members assessed the surrounding conditions and identified the safest, most effective ignition points. They then observed the fire’s behaviour and practised firefighting techniques to keep the burn under control and ensure the area was left safe.

A great night of practical training with a positive outcome for our community. πŸš’

Our crews responded to a vehicle fire this morning after the owner noticed flames coming from beneath the bonnet whilst performing maintenance.

After attempts to extinguish the fire with a garden hose were unsuccessful, the owner called Triple Zero (000). Crews arrived and extinguished the blaze; unfortunately, the vehicle was a total loss.

The owner’s quick decision to call 000 helped minimise the risk of the fire spreading.

Always happy to help our community when needed. πŸš’

It was an honour for our Captain, Nick, to attend the Chaffey Group Awards Ceremony on Saturday night.

The evening celebrated an incredible 140 combined years of service, including members reaching the remarkable milestone of 50 years with the CFS.

Nick also had the opportunity to meet CFS Chief Brett Loughlin, making for a memorable evening recognising the dedication and commitment of CFS volunteers.

Congratulations to all recipients on their well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your service to our communities. πŸš’πŸ‘
