We are committed to developing and strengthening community partnerships to help keep all Victorians safe during emergencies. A volunteer-based organisation, SES provides emergency assistance to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. SES is the control agency during emergency responses to floods, storms, earthquakes and tsunamis in Victoria, and is the largest provider of road crash rescu

e in the state. We also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important support role during major bushfire responses. As well as providing support on the ground, SES plays an important role in assisting municipal councils and their communities with emergency management plans, providing advice, information, education and training. SES members share a dedication to our core values: valuing our people, commitment, trust, a community focus and integrity.

🔸️🛠Part of our Road Rescue kit is a toolbelt that contains essential hand tools for quick access. Our old toolbelts were getting worn down, to the point that the duct tape holding them together was no longer working, and tools would often fall out (!).
To get the maximum lifespan and efficiency out of their replacements, we decided to replace them with custom-made belts.🛠🔸️

In total, we spent $1,864.64 to fund this Tool Belt Project. These funds came out of the money that the community has generously donated to the unit through our bank account and via the orange helmets around the local community. So, it is thanks to your efforts that our unit now has six new tool belts for members to use at rescue jobs. These have already made a huge difference!

🦺While we get some of our equipment and vehicle maintenance costs covered by the VICSES State Office, a large portion are unit funded; This means the unit must raise their own funds to maintain and replace this equipment. 🦺
If you would like to assist, please donate to our donations account. BSB 633 000.
Account number 141 106 187.

🧡 Bannockburn SES would like to sincerely thank our local community members who have generously donated funds.🧡

😁 ➡️We’re proud to serve you.⬅️😁

Wishing Werribee Fire Brigade - CFA and our SES South Barwon Unit volunteer Road Crash Rescue teams all the best as they head into the final day of the 2026 NSW Road Crash Rescue Challenge in Dubbo.

(Best wishes to our Bannockburn Controller Blake in the Sth Barwon SES team)

Over the course of this weekend, these high skilled rescue teams have been taking part in a series of scenario challenges designed to test their skills and knowledge in road crash rescue, including technical rescue, industrial and domestic rescue, and patient care.

We are very fortunate in Victoria, that of our 135 Principal Road Crash Provider locations, we have over 125 locations where passionate volunteers are continuing to develop their specialist skills through exercises like this to improve outcomes for those that tragically end up in rescues needing their help.

No matter the result, we are incredibly proud of their dedication to training and continuous learning, furthering their skills for the betterment of our communities.
