Read more about what Marie has to say about her favourite classes at BSC.
✨What’s your favourite class, workout, or activity at BSC, and why?
Jason’s Strength for Seniors and Georgia’s Active Adults cover my exercise interests. I follow current research studies relating to osteoporosis and health span in older people and these classes cover many facets of ageing well.
Jason’s groups align well with the respected Griffith University research into osteoporosis and he has a professional background in anatomy. Georgia’s classes cover HIT, memory, core, strength and balance, all essential for general health.
I generally do both classes three times a week with a day in between for recovery. I also enjoy the company of the friends I’ve made in these groups.
✨What do you think makes BSC unique?
The variety of classes gives choice and the knowledge of the trainers I’ve worked with is impressive. The trainers, staff at the front desk and in the cafe have always been friendly and welcoming.
✨What achievement are you most proud of since joining?
When possible, I prioritise my regular sessions and arrange appointments around them so that the gym has become a habit.
I can also deadlift over my body weight which I didn’t think possible.
✨What advice would you give someone just starting their wellness journey?
Join at least one class where it’s easy to connect with other people and do some resistance training. Make an appointment with the gym staff to show you how to use the machines.
