Recent Government report into the cost to people of climate change.

Every time the government approves more Forest destruction, coal, gas or other fossil fuel expansion they know we will take the fall.

The Australian National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA) finds that no Australian community will be immune from climate risks that will be cascading, compounding and concurrent. 

Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen explained each term clearly: “Cascading — it will get worse over time;

compounding — each impact of climate change will make another impact worse; and

concurrent — communities will suffer the impacts of climate change in different ways at the same time.”

Chris Minns, the floods were in 2022, then a cyclone as you note. Priorities are important as are choices and allocation of funds. The Northern Rivers communities are at the front line of the climate crisis, The National Climate Risk Assessment ( NCRA) finds that no Australian community will be immune from climate risk that will be cascading, compounding and concurrent.
