A Severe Heatwave Warning is current for much of NSW, including most areas of the NSW coastline, including Far North Coast Branch.
Temperatures are forecast to reach the high thirties to low forties across the next few days, with conditions expected to ease by the end of the weekend.
Big crowds are expected as people head to the beach to cool off, and lifesavers and lifeguards are urging everyone to stay alert around the water.
If you are going to the beach, make safety your priority. Visit a patrolled location, swim between the red and yellow flags, and follow the advice of our lifesavers and lifeguards.

Remember to Stop. Look. Stay Alive.

• Swim between the red and yellow flags
• Check beachsafe.org.au / BeachSafe App for patrol times and conditions
• Read the safety signs
• Supervise children closely
• Never swim under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• If you need help, stay calm and raise your arm
• In an emergency, call Triple Zero

Look out for your mates and stay safe in the heat.
