🔥🔥NEW FIRE DANGER RATING SYSTEM🔥🔥

Please be aware of the new Fire Danger Rating System coming from 1 September 2022.

Victoria’s fire danger rating system is changing, the current fire danger rating system is based on science that is more than 60 years old.

The new AFDRS uses the latest science about weather, vegetation and how fire behaves in different landscapes to improve fire danger forecasts. This means emergency services will be better prepared, make improved decisions, and provide better advice to the community.

On 1 September 2022 you will see new Fire Danger Ratings across Australia.

The semi-circle you are familiar with from old fire danger signs is changing. Instead of displaying six Fire Danger Rating levels, the new signs will have just four categories, ranging from moderate to catastrophic.

Over the coming months, the old signs will be removed and replaced with new ones that look a little bit different. Based on community feedback, we have found these changes are easier to understand and will provide clear advice about actions to take.

STATEWIDE TOTAL FIRE BAN!

Tues 15 January 2019

Tuesday 15 January 2019 has been declared a day of TOTAL FIRE BAN for the whole State of Victoria.

No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12:01 AM on Tuesday 15 January 2019 until 11:59 PM Tuesday 15 January 2019.

All of the Firetac crew would like to wish our boss Bob Barks a very happy 63rd birthday! For the first time in 5 years Bob will be celebrating at home with his wife, not working! Happy Birthday Bob! You are truely a unique individual!

What a fantastic event, 5 days at Strawberry Fields! We got to meet some amazing people from the NSW Rural Fire Service and many other parts of the country. The new site was amazing! What a fantastic part of the country!
