Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Wellness Ball champions Kelli Aggett and Josh Ryan to the Cancer Wellness Centre to celebrate an incredible milestone.

Through the Wellness Ball and their Wellness Warriors team, Kelli and Josh have now raised almost $150,000 for the Centre over the past five years - with a record-breaking $42,653.60 raised in 2026 alone, the highest fundraising total in the event's history.

This remarkable contribution will fund more than a third of the Centre's annual operating costs, helping ensure local patients and families can continue to access vital support services free of charge. From oncology massage and the Look Good Feel Better program to support groups, wellness activities and emotional support services, these funds help provide the care that goes beyond treatment.

To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered - thank you.

A special thank you to the sponsors:

⭐ Gold Sponsors: Ballarat Tiles, Tap and Flow, Odyssey Concreting & Construction
⭐ Silver Sponsors: JS Roofing., Resicert Property Inspections, Final Impact Painting, Australian Skin Clinics Ballarat, James Montano - Buxton Real Estate, Sweaty AF, Mick Kerr Rendering and All In Accounting.
⭐ Bronze Sponsors: Trident Commercial Finance, Western Steel Roofing and Freedom Finance

Together, you're helping keep these life-changing services accessible for those who need them most.

The annual Adroit Insurance & Risk Charity Golf Day has once again achieved an outstanding result, raising over $29,500 for Grampians Health Ballarat. With matched funding from the Ballarat Health Services Foundation, the total contribution is almost $60,000. ⛳

Held at the Ballarat Golf Club, the event brought together more than 80 local business participants in support of babies, children and families receiving care across our services.

Funds raised this year will support a specialised transport cot for the Special Care Nursery and a vehicle for the Early Parenting Centre at Lucas.
Last year’s fundraising helped provide adjustable Hi-Lo cots and recliner chairs for the Special Care Nursery and Maternity. These items have already improved care for families by making it easier for parents, particularly those recovering from birth, to safely and comfortably care for and bond with their newborns.

The new transport cot will further strengthen the nursery’s ability to safely move vulnerable babies within the hospital and during transfers to specialist services. While the Early Parenting Centre vehicle will also enable staff to extend support into homes across the Grampians region, improving access for families experiencing distance and isolation.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome representatives from the Rotary Club of Ballarat East, Ballarat West and Wendouree Breakfast to our Parent & Infant Unit to see firsthand the impact of their generous support.

Thanks to Rotary's funding, three new parent beds have been placed in the unit, helping ensure families can stay together during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

The Parent & Infant Unit provides specialist inpatient care supporting parents experiencing significant perinatal mental health challenges. The unit offers a safe and nurturing environment where parents can rebuild their confidence, strengthen their bond with their baby and recover together as a family.

When partners or support people needed to stay overnight, staff were often unable to properly accommodate them in the single rooms, creating additional stress during an already difficult period. These new beds will help provide families with greater comfort and support throughout their stay.

We are incredibly grateful to Rotary for helping make this possible. 💙

Over the past week, our maternity team at Ballarat Base Hospital has welcomed 27 beautiful babies into the world — each one bringing a new story, new joy, and new beginnings for local families.

Throughout this month we have 149 women booked to birth, which is 20% higher than average!

Congratulations to all parents of new arrivals, and thank you to our incredible midwives, doctors and support staff who make these moments possible, even during our busiest times 👶✨

💜👶Infant Mental Health Awareness Week – Attunement 👶💜
This year’s theme, Attunement, reminds us of the importance of being present, responsive and connected to the children in our lives.

At the Early Parenting Centre (EPC), we support families with children aged 0-4 who may be navigating challenges such as sleep and settling, big emotions, feeding concerns, or simply seeking additional guidance. Our team works alongside families to build confidence, strengthen relationships and empower parents and carers.

Getting support is easy - simply click the link below, scan the QR code to fill in a self-referral form, or contact the EPC on 5320 3003.

A little Bulldogs magic filled our Children’s Ward today! 💙🤍❤️

We were delighted to welcome Western Bulldogs AFLW players Jasmyn Smith and Britney Gutknecht to the Children’s Ward as part of the club’s annual Ballarat Community Camp.

The players spent time chatting with young patients, joining in activities and bringing plenty of joy to children and families during their hospital stay.

Visits like these are about so much more than footy. They provide a welcomed distraction for children facing health challenges and inspire young people especially young girls, to back themselves and believe in what they can achieve.

A huge thank you to Jasmyn, Britney and the Western Bulldogs team for taking the time to connect with our patients and staff.
We can't wait to cheer on the Bulldogs when they return to Ballarat later this AFLW season!
