The new ECG machine at GH at Home is helping clinicians deliver faster, safer care closer to home for patients across our region. 💙

Used to record the heart’s electrical activity, the ECG machine enables rapid assessment of patients experiencing symptoms such as chest pain, helping clinicians identify serious heart conditions and make timely decisions about treatment. Having this equipment available within the service means patients can receive important heart assessments without the need for additional hospital visits.

The equipment has quickly become an important part of the GH at Home clinic, supporting clinicians to provide efficient, high-quality care in the community.

"Our beautiful new ECG machine has become an important part of the GH at Home clinic. It allows our clinicians to perform timely heart assessments and make informed decisions about patient care without the need for additional hospital visits. This equipment helps us provide safer, more efficient care closer to home, and we are sincerely grateful to the generous donors who made it possible."
— Jackie Cherry, Team Leader, GH at Home.

Living in a regional area shouldn't mean missing out on life-changing treatment. While 23% of Victorians live in regional communities, only 4% of eligible patients have access to a clinical trial close to home.

That's why we're raising funds to build a dedicated Clinical Research Centre, providing hope and improving quality of life for people across Ballarat and the Grampians region. A purpose-built centre will enable more patients to participate in life-changing clinical trials close to home, surrounded by their family, friends and support network. 💜

Please donate today and help bring world-class research and treatment opportunities closer to home for regional patients. https://ghb-care-closer-to-home.raiselysite.com/

The final video in the Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment School Art Project series has dropped!

Yanuli, one of 15 primary school students whose artwork is proudly displayed near the Gold Lifts at the rear of the Ballarat Base Hospital's GP Foyer, features in this latest video.

As part of the project, students were invited to imagine a hospital of the future. Through her creativity and unique perspective, Yanuli created an inspiring artwork that reflects her vision of healthcare and the important role hospitals play in supporting our communities.

Each piece in the collection captures the values at the heart of the redevelopment, including care, innovation and community, while showcasing the imagination and talent of local primary school students.

Thank you Yanuli for your wonderful piece of artwork!

R U OK? Day (10 September) is an important reminder for us to pause, check in with the people around us and start meaningful conversations.

You don’t need to be an expert to ask someone if they are OK – a simple chat can make a real difference.

By listening without judgement, giving someone your time and staying connected, we can help create a community where people feel supported, valued and seen.

In Australia, there are over 1.1 million people currently experiencing an eating disorder.

Running from the 7 to 13 September, Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week encourages us all to rethink what wellness really means.

This week, we’re sharing videos from our caring team at our Eating Disorder Multidisciplinary Clinic as they explore what it means to ‘redefine wellness.’

Hear from Beth, a Clinical Psychologist, who unpacks a common wellness myth, and Coelina, Adult Clinic Coordinator, who recognises eating disorders don't always look the way people expect.

💙 Join us this week as we work together to redefine wellness.
