Australia is getting a new emergency alert system — AusAlert.

It's being built by the Australian Government and will launch in October 2026. When there is a bushfire, flood, or other emergency near you, your phone will alert you automatically. No app, no sign-up needed.

On Monday, 27 July 2026, at 2:00 pm, there will be a national test. If your phone makes a sound and shows an emergency message — don't worry, it is just a test.

Find out more in-language at the official website: ausalert.gov.au

🚨 Smoke Alarm Action Day – Test Yours Today! 🚨

A working smoke alarm can give you the precious seconds needed to escape a house fire safely.

Did you know?
🔥 Most fatal house fires happen between 8pm and 8am when people are asleep.
🔥 You lose your sense of smell while sleeping.
🔥 Smoke alarms are recommended in every bedroom, living area, and hallway.
🔥 Interconnected smoke alarms provide the best protection by sounding throughout the home when one alarm is triggered.

Today, take 3 seconds to press the test button on your smoke alarm. It could save a life.

✅ Test your smoke alarms
✅ Check the batteries
✅ Replace alarms that are more than 10 years old
