📍 We're proposing to rename a section of Duncan Street, Ballan to Shamrock Court — and we want to hear from you before any final decision is made.

The proposal has been developed because Duncan Street is physically divided by Inglis Street, creating two separate road sections that currently share the same street name.

🚨Swooping Season Alert! 🚨

🐦‍⬛Magpies and plovers are protective parents at this time of year, which means you might notice some swooping behaviour in Moorabool. While it can be surprising, it's only temporary as they protect their chicks.

👉If you encounter a swooping bird, please let us know by emailing Council - we will put up signage in the area to help alert others.

🚧Main Street, Bacchus Marsh upgrades start today!

Over the next three months, you'll notice new footpaths, fresh tree plots, improved drainage, and resurfaced parking lanes.

We're working alongside the Victorian Government's Grant Street/Main Street/Gisborne Road intersection project to keep things running smoothly.

Rise Up 2026 raises funds for victims of domestic violence. It's an exhibition of over 200 Marching Women made by 94 participants will be on display - and for sale - at St. Anne's Winery - Myrniong next Saturday 12 September.

Rise Up 2026 - Saturday the 12th & Sunday the 13th of September (official opening from 1pm Saturday)

More than 200 sculptures created by over 90 local participants come together for Rise Up: Marching Together, a special fundraising exhibition.

The sculptures were created as part of the Rise Up Project, with each figure representing strength and contributing to a striking collective artwork designed to “create art to create change”.

Sculptures will be available for sale, with proceeds supporting Sherelle Moody, Red Heart Movement and She Matters, in their work supporting victims of domestic violence.

Works on a new off-road shared path along Griffith Street, Maddingley will commence soon, delivering safer and more accessible connections for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

The staged project includes a continuous off-road shared path network on both sides of Griffith Street and upgraded service lanes on the south side.

Part of this work also requires the removal of approximately 30 sugar gum trees on the southern side of Griffith Street, in order to accommodate the improvement works. New trees will be planted, with timber from the removed trees salvaged and stored at our depot.

Local residents are welcome to collect and use the wood, subject to availability. More information about this process will be made available at a later date.

The above works (stage 1) are jointly funded through Council, the Australian Government and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). Construction is expected to be completed mid-2027.
