πŸ’™ EA Appreciation Week πŸ’™

This week, we celebrate and recognise our incredible Education Assistants and the important role they play in our College community.

Our EAs bring patience, care, encouragement and dedication to our classrooms every day, supporting our students to learn, grow and achieve their best. Their hard work, kindness and commitment make a meaningful difference to both our students and staff.

To all of our wonderful Education Assistants at Ballajura Community College, thank you for everything you do! Your contribution to our College does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our BCC community. πŸ’™

Happy EA Appreciation Week! 🌟

Last night, our Year 12 Hospitality students had the incredible opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed throughout the year, while celebrating the rich food traditions within their own families and cultures.

The students designed, prepared and served a four-course East African-inspired dinner, drawing inspiration from family recipes, flavours and traditions.

From the kitchen to the dining room, they demonstrated teamwork, organisation, professionalism and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Most importantly, the evening was a wonderful celebration of culture, family and food, allowing our students to share a little piece of their heritage with our guests.

A huge congratulations to our Year 12 Hospitality students on an amazing evening. We are incredibly proud of what you achieved!

Māori Language Week 2026

Yesterday 02 Sept 2026, our students had the opportunity to take part in a series of Māori cultural workshops in the PAC, led by Mr Joseph White.

Across Sessions 1, 2 and 3, students explored Māori culture, language and traditions, with a strong focus on the importance and value of family.

The sessions were powerful and, at times, very emotional. It was fantastic to see how engaged our students were and how much they took away from Mr White’s stories, experiences and messages.
A huge thank you to Mr Joseph White for sharing his culture, knowledge and experiences with our students and making the day so meaningful.

In preparation for Māori Language Week, students and staff are also invited to attend our traditional hāngi next Wednesday from 12:30 pm.

If you would like to attend, please meet in Student Services.

We look forward to continuing the celebrations and bringing our school community together through culture, connection and, of course, great food.

The difference you make often extends far beyond the classroom. Your patience, encouragement, and willingness to go the extra mile are deeply appreciated by staff, students, and families alike.

Thank you for everything you do. We are grateful to have such a talented and compassionate team of Education Assistants supporting our school.πŸ’™

Junior Boys Basketball TournamentπŸ€

On Friday 14 August, our Junior Boys Basketball team travelled to Warwick Stadium to compete in the interschool basketball tournament. The boys represented Ballajura Community College with outstanding sportsmanship, determination, and teamwork throughout the day.

After a series of strong performances, the team successfully progressed through the group stage and earned a place in the Grand Final. In a thrilling and closely contested match, the boys faced Carine Senior High School. Unfortunately, despite a spirited effort, they went down in the final.

A huge congratulations to all students who participated and contributed to an excellent tournament campaign. Their commitment, effort, and positive attitude were a credit to the college.

Special recognition goes to Captain Caden O. and our Vice-Captain Abdel O. for their leadership throughout the day.

We would also like to congratulate Abdel O., who was named the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performances and contribution across the tournament.

Well done to all involved on a fantastic achievement and for proudly representing the Ballajura Bulls.
