Our brand-new beach volleyball court is officially taking shape - the sand has been poured & levelled, the poles are in, and everything has been flattened and prepared ready for action! 🏐

It’s looking absolutely amazing and the students will be able to enjoy the new space very soon.

A huge congratulations to our very own Chris Burch, who represented in the Over 45s Rugby competition in Phuket over the weekend!

Chris played an incredible 5 games across the tournament, showing outstanding commitment and passion for the sport. The highlight? A thrilling grand final clash against the Hong Kong Football Club, where his team secured a dominant 5–0 victory in overtime to claim the title! πŸ†

The 2026 Music Showcase was an event organised by Head of Arts Krystal McKnight, and executed by the Certificate II Creative Industries students. These students undertook tasks including front of house, prop construction, staging, lighting and their performance work as part of their course requirements.

Attendees enjoyed music from our junior concert band, including many members from our local primary schools, guitar ensemble, senior concert band, contemporary guitar ensemble, choir, Cert II band, a vocal duet by Lyric Nathan and Dominic Smith and a piano solo by Laim Garlett-Forrest.

The event was a lovely showcase of student talent and one where we welcomed performers of all stages of experience. Thank you to the staff and parents for their support.

On Thursday 28 May, our Year 11 Applied Information Technology students attended the Indian Ocean Defence and Security Careers Day at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The day gave students the chance to explore real career pathways across defence industry, STEM, maritime, technology and advanced manufacturing. Students enjoyed a wide range of defence stands and trade displays, with plenty of hands-on activities, conversations with industry representatives and a few pieces of free merchandise along the way.

A real highlight was meeting Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Australia’s first female astronaut, who spoke with students as part of the Careers Day program. Students also had the opportunity to speak with representatives from Austal and Rolls-Royce, learning more about future career possibilities in Western Australia.

Thank you to Ms Penny Sidebottom and Ms Natasha Marsh for helping es**rt students on the day.

A proud and worthwhile experience for our Year 11 students.

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, our Year 8 and 9 students attended The Jack Beasley Foundation presentation, β€œOne Moment – I Live My Life Without a Knife”, during Session 4 in the Performing Arts Centre.

The presentation had a powerful impact on both students and staff, highlighting the importance of making positive choices and the consequences of youth violence.

It was also fantastic to see former BCC students return as WA Police cadets to support and speak with our students throughout the event.
