NSW SES Manly Unit was in North Manly this morning after a bedroom ceiling collapsed during the night from a week’s worth of rain. A good reminder to take advantage of sunny days and do a little roof care. Prevention is a great insurance policy.

Happy Day to all NSW SES members. Wear Orange Wednesday is an easy way to say a quiet thank you to SES members by slipping on some orange on 20 May. We celebrated tonight by wearing orange…and eating cake!

Having an SES version of Monopoly produced to mark the occasion is pretty cool.

Huge congrats to one of our own who has now joined the ranks of NSW Police Force. Today, Bug is actually part of the NSW SES Manly Unit team attending a missing persons search on the Central Coast. We are so proud to have him as part of our Unit and the greater emergency services network. He has the compassion and kindness that make him perfect for providing emergency care.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident off Ballina Bar overnight.

Not only for the loss of life from Marine Rescue NSW but also the loss of life from the vessel they were responding to.

This is a reminder of what emergency services can face every time they answer a call for help, frequently in the most challenging and dangerous conditions.

We extend our sincere condolences to the families, friends and members of Marine Rescue NSW, as well as all those affected by this tragedy.

Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.💙💙

Congratulations to Bernard who was promoted to Deputy Unit Commander of People Development and Support last night. In his day job, Bernard is a first aid trainer with Surf Life Saving. He takes over the role from longtime member Ben who is currently focusing on expanding his day job from paramedic to fire fighter.

NSW SES Manly Unit is privileged to have so many in our team who generously share the skills they attain in their paid careers, training our other members to be exceptional volunteers.
