We're excited to announce that East Gippsland Water has been shortlisted in the Water Minister's Climate Innovation Challenge with our project, Small Towns, Big Impact: Climate-Smart Biosolids Management.
The project explores innovative ways to manage biosolids in regional communities, helping reduce emissions and environmental impacts while creating more sustainable outcomes for the future.
For regional areas like East Gippsland, practical climate solutions are essential. Our idea focuses on how smaller communities can play a significant role in tackling climate challenges, supporting a circular economy, and delivering benefits for both customers and the environment.
Being shortlisted reflects East Gippsland Water's ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability and finding smarter ways to serve our community.
We're now looking forward to presenting our idea at the final pitch stage and sharing how climate-smart biosolids management could help regional water corporations contribute to Victoria's climate goals. If we're successful, winners then get funding for our project.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in developing the submission. Please watch this space for more in the coming months.
