🏖️🌊 From the Bush to the Beach! 🌊🏖️

Today we welcomed Marian and Bree from Surf Life Saving Queensland as part of the fantastic Bush to Beach Program! 💚💛

Our students had an action-packed session filled with fun, learning and plenty of important water safety messages. We explored the different coloured beach flags and what each one means, learned how to stay safe at the beach, and discovered what to do if an emergency happens.

From understanding the safest places to swim to knowing how to recognise potential dangers, our students were developing skills and knowledge that can help keep them safe in and around the water. 🌊☀️

A huge thank you to Marian and Bree for making water safety engaging, interactive and lots of fun!

Another awesome learning experience in the Land of Awesomeness! 💚💛

Positive Culture for Life (PCL) was developed at Kalamia State School and underpins our school values - I am Safe, I am Respectful, and I am a Learner.

Each week, we explore, implement and practise an aspect of our school values and discuss the impact our actions and positive mindsets have on others in our school, our families and in our community.

During Week 9 Term 3 our focus is I am Respectful - I take my turn with others.

We welcomed the North Queensland Cowboys and Wilmar Sugar to our school recently and it is always great fun when they visit.

We had lots of fun working on our Father’s Day crafts, talking about cane trains and the importance of using our ‘train brain’.
