I’ve been reflecting on the funding wins I have been instrumental in creating over the last 5 years as a volunteer in the Bicton-Attadale-Alfred Cove ward

2 x Project Robin Hood grants = $49,000
1 x petition successfully granted = approx. $1.3 million (land value)
1 x successful state funding for inter generational Davis Rd park development from our local member = $75,000
1 x community mural funding from = approx. $7000
Approx. total = $1,431,000 🙌🏼
Imagine what we could create if elected to council.

It’s been a busy day chatting with residents all over the ward. Ending tonight with the final session of the Earth Carers course at Piney Lakes. This was a free course available for all City of Melville residents and I would recommend attending when there’s another opportunity.
Lessen with Peg - Rethink waste is a patient and passionate educator. One of the major issues we face countrywide is dealing with our waste, avoiding contamination, reducing and repurposing. There’s an app to help you out Recycle Right WA download it and please don’t put your takeaway coffee cups in recycling, it’s general waste. I’m brainstorming a solution around this atm, if you want to get involved, please send me a PM. Many minds etc etc.

To best understand a project, my tactic is always to immerse myself in conversation and research what has already been done. Part of the Davis and Lawlor Rd community mural project was to take myself and some other willing participants on a road trip. In July, we visited the VisitCollie and had the pleasure of a personal guided tour by one of the team responsible. It’s worth a visit, inspiration in abundance!
The Davis Rd mural is now complete, we hope you like it.
