This week - a Community Afternoon Tea at the Arthurs Creek Fire Station. Head down, meet some volunteer brigade members, & start thinking about your fire plans.

It's hard to believe winter is nearly over, which means it's time to start thinking about fire preparedness. We're opening our doors for a community afternoon tea on Wed Sept 16 & we'd love to see you. Come and see the station improvements, meet your local brigade members & talk through any concerns you might have. See you on the 16th.

Our page has been raising awareness of the proposed Middle Hut BESS for the last two weeks but now the issue has its own page so please head over there to follow the progress in this fight. 🙏

Time is getting short before the proponents put in their official application for the Middle Hut BESS. If you would like to email anyone with your concerns we have reduced the list of issues, down to a more manageable 3 points. Please keep those emails going - to council, to CFA & to politicians!

As you may already know, there is an industrial scale battery farm (BESS) proposed for rural Doreen, on Middle Hut Road. While there is definitely an argument for the need for facilities such as this, people locally are questioning, "Is this the right location?" If you are concerned by this proposal & would like to send emails to councillors, to politicians, to the company owners, and to the CFA, here are some points you might consider bringing up in your email. While those who have concerns about the Proposed Middle Hut BESS and its location are sending emails to councillors, to politicians, to the heads of each company involved, and to the CFA, we thought it would be a good time to review what we know so far. The application is expected to be sent to the Planning Minister soon - once that happens, things may move fast!

Many people are wondering what they can do next in regard to the Middle Hut BESS. One thing we can each do is raise awareness of our concerns via email. There's a long list of people you could possibly send emails to, but here are a few - CFA Victoria, local sitting members of Parliament, other political candidates, local council, & the heads of each company, to get you started.

Tomorrow there is a drop in session at the Arthurs Creek Community Centre from 2pm to 6pm. If you have questions about the proposed Middle Hut BESS, then this is the time to bring them forward. Please note there is limited parking at the community centre, & there is limited street parking as well.
