6 ESR is the Army's largest and most diverse Engineer Regiment, which includes two Construction Squadrons, an EOD Squadron and an Operational Support Squadron. The Regiment is currently spread across three locations: Amberley, Enoggera, and Holsworthy.

During Exercise Poziers Run, 6 ESR achieved a Royal Australian Engineers (RAE) first while providing divisional engineer support to 1st Combat Engineer Regiment.

Designed and constructed by the officers and sappers of 21 Construction Squadron, supported by members of OSS, the team built a Non-Equipment Bridge (NEB) capable of supporting the newest capabilities of the RAE. Upon completion of the exercise and with support from our engineer brethren at 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment , we were able to validate the design and construction, surpassing expectations and achieving MLC 130.

17 Construction Squadron is providing support as part of Exercise PUK PUK 2026. Currently in the thick of construction, working side by side with our CER and PNGDF partners, key infrastructure works are progressing to plan and critical milestones are being achieved daily!

17 Construction Squadron elements are currently at Moem Barracks, PNG working with our PNGDF partners on infrastructure projects. Last week, a tree fell on the barracks severing a powerline and blocking the road.

Upon PNGDF request, our electricians and combat engineers had the road cleared and power back up and running!
