d socio- economic backgrounds. Ambarvale Public School staff are committed to, and fully supported with, ongoing professional development to contribute to the school's goals and vision. Ambarvale Public school is a participant in the Priority Schools and National Partnerships programs to strengthen the school's overall Literacy and Numeracy programs to enhance student results. Quality programs operating at the school to support these literacy and numeracy initiatives include TOWN, Count-Me-In-Too, Best Start and Reading Recovery. Additionally, students are taught Spanish K-6, as part of the school's Community Languages Program. Ambarvale Public School achieves its mission by: providing strong foundations in the six Key Learning Areas; assisting all students to achieve their best; promoting excellence at individual ability levels; developing self-esteem, independence and resilience; providing a safe, secure and caring environment; promoting the core values of integrity, excellence, respect, responsibility, cooperation, participation, care, fairness and democracy. The whole school community is valued as partners in the education process to support and enrich learning experiences and outcomes for our students. The school plays an important role in the community by providing solid foundations for students to 'Learn to Live'. We work together to promote quality public education and celebrate the successes of students, staff, and the whole school community.

***Reminder that Thomas Reddall High School has an open day this afternoon.

This isn't just an event for Year 6 students or families preparing for high school next year. It's an open invitation for anyone in the community who would like to learn more about Thomas Reddall High School.

Whether they have younger children who will attend high school in the future, are considering their options, are former students interested in seeing how the school has evolved, or simply want to meet our leadership team, everyone is welcome.

Guests will have the opportunity to:
Meet our Principal and Senior Executive team
Enjoy a coffee and informal chat
Take a guided tour of the school
Ask questions in a relaxed and welcoming environment

Paying Respect to a Respected Dharawal Elder
Over the weekend, we sadly lost a dear and highly respected Uncle who gave so much to our community.

Uncle Ivan Wellington was a strong supporter of many schools across the Dharawal area, generously sharing his knowledge, culture and stories with students, staff and families. He provided Welcome to Country, Yarning Circles and cultural guidance, and was especially known for his powerful Smoking Ceremonies, which brought our communities together and helped educate generations of young people.

Uncle Ivan designed our very own Gundhu Garden in 2018.
