House Elf Adventures

Directions

House Elf Adventures Retired. Bad at being a House Elf. Keep escaping. Every photo is a 'perspective' puzzle. My photo ALBUMs are the result, sometimes a reel. Take your time.

I play detective with Old Central Australian photos, to find the EXACT camera location and post about my adventures. Not retirement - Life Upgrade! Time rich, cash poor, Grinning. I have a rainbow of activities that give my life balance and joy. It starts with Red - Excitement and adventure. Once a week I try to get outside and take the road less travelled, stop and take photos whenever I want. Central Australia is so beautiful, I love it here, and when I come home and tweak and crop the photos so that they show the country how I experience it, I just want to share it. If it brings me joy, why not delight others? Please invite your friends and people from overseas, you really should visit Central Australia. Cities are sortof the same all over the world. Please go to Photos - Albums and experience each adventure with me. Breathe it in. You are unlikely to see these views on any tour. These are spots the locals might know. Maybe from when they were kids, and still went places with open eyes.

Went to Deep Well to see how many original telegraph poles were available.
We stopped counting when we realised there was more than we would practically want for an Interpretive Reconstuction of the 1871 and 1899 lines through the Town.

Here is a preview of some photos I tried to reshoot. most of them are not real accurate because of bushes in the way and being too rushed.

I want to tell a few of Kurt Johannsen's yarns through photos but that's going to take longer.. stay tuned.

I'm on a forced break, after an operation on my eye.

I've been doing stuff, but not finishing anything.

So here is one of the first times I went out for a serious adventure when I was first retired, and took an old photo with me.

The photo wasn't old; it was from the seventies. It reminded me of my teenage motorbike outings, and wondered if it had changed much, or if my memories were at all accurate.

Would i recognise the tracks I used to ride on?
In any case I had bought a mountainbike, and although my fitness and stamina were crap compared to my competitive racing brother, I was more interested in chillng and photographing stuff anyway.

I enjoyed revisiting it, and sharing the experience on Facebook.
The next time I went out, I took older photos of places I might be able to find. And the rest is history, and the history of House Elf Adventures, hahaha.

On my way to the Larapinta Trail Lookout East of Wallaby Gap... I remembered this photo posted in the "Growing up in Alice Springs" group of the late 1970s MotoX track behind Patterson St. On impulse I took some photos and followed that track. Lots of Déjà vu as I pushed my mountainbike up steep tracks that I often rode on on my motorbike when I was only 16...
