Tomorrow morning is the World Su***de Prevention Day – Walk & Breakfast

💛 Thursday 10 September 2026 at 7am

📍 The walk begins on the banks of the Todd River at the corner of Leichhardt Terrace and Parsons Street and follows the banks of the river in a loop.

Join us as we come together to walk in solidarity, remember those we’ve lost, share stories and strengthen our connections.

☕ 7.00am – Free hot cuppa from the coffee van
🚶 7.30am – Remembrance Walk
🌿 8.00am – Welcome to Country | Smoking Ceremony | Speeches
🍳 8.15am – Free breakfast

🌼 Everyone is invited to place a flower on our Remembrance Wall in honour of a loved one.

This week is Women’s Health Week, Australia’s largest annual event dedicated to the health and wellbeing of women, girls and gender-diverse people 💜

This year’s theme ‘Do It Anyway’ encourages small steps towards better health and wellbeing.

Mental health is an important part of overall health, and many factors — including life stages, hormonal changes, caring responsibilities and everyday pressures — can affect mental wellbeing.

Women’s Health Week is an opportunity to raise awareness, encourage conversations and recognise the importance of equitable access to information, care and support.

MHACA is seeking an experienced Housing and Homelessness Support Worker to assist people living with mental health challenges who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access and maintain safe and secure accommodation.

The role provides practical, strengths-based support through advocacy, case management, financial planning, living skills education and referrals to other services. The successful candidate will work with participants to identify their goals, develop support plans and address psychosocial barriers to maintaining stable housing.

We are looking for someone with experience in complex case management, an understanding of tenancy management and the homelessness sector, and the ability to build effective relationships with participants and stakeholders. Experience working in a cross-cultural setting or a demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and cultural competence is essential.

Full time and ongoing – 38 hours per week.

Salary $93,201.99 – $100,286.94 (MHACA EBA/SCHADS Level 4) plus 12% super and generous salary sacrifice.

MHACA also offers six weeks annual leave, 11 days personal leave, a $400 annual Wellbeing Allowance, professional development opportunities and flexible, family-friendly workplace policies.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply, and transferable skills will be considered.
