👷‍♀️ Progress is happening beneath the surface... and now above it too!

The recent concrete pours are part of the ongoing pavement works through the central section of Todd Mall.

While much of the work completed so far has been happening underground - including new drainage, electrical and communications infrastructure - we're now starting to see more of the upgrade take shape above ground.

The new concrete forms part of the pavement construction, with new pavers to be progressively installed as each area is completed. 🙌

Once finished, the upgraded pavement will provide a smoother, more accessible surface through the Mall, improving access to local businesses and helping create a space ready for the future.

Spare conduits are also being installed at key locations, making it easier to add future services with minimal disruption - meaning less need to dig up the new pavement down the track!

🚛♻️ FREE White Goods Day - Saturday, 5 September!

Got old or unwanted appliances taking up space? Bring them along and dispose of them responsibly. Residents can drop off white goods for FREE on the first Saturday of every month at the Regional Waste Management Facility.

✅ No degassing fees – you won’t be charged on White Goods Day
✅ Free drop-off for large kitchen items, including air fryers and microwaves
✅ Items must be empty and clean
✅ One item per person

📅 When: First Saturday of each month

Don’t let those tough guy looks fool you… Ryder is actually one seriously laid-back dude ❤️

Ryder is a Staffy x Lowrider who can find life at the shelter a little overwhelming. But ask to take him into our meet and greet area and you’ll see the real Ryder come out - a chilled-out, happy boy who’s ready to show you what a great companion he can be 🥰

He’s great on walks, gets along well with other dogs and is unfazed by cats. Basically, Ryder is looking for someone to share a few walks, plenty of chill time and lots of love with. 🏡🐶

If you think Ryder could be your new best mate, come and meet him at the Animal Shelter💕

📚✨ WHAT A WEEK! ✨📚

What a wonderful Book Week we had at the library! 💛

We had such a blast getting creative at our craft session and showing off some seriously fantastic costumes in our Book Week parade!

Seeing so many little readers getting excited about their favourite stories and bringing those stories to life is pretty magical.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, got crafty, dressed up and helped us celebrate!

Today marks the final day of Seniors Month, and what better way to wrap it up than by sharing some lovely photos of our wonderful seniors enjoying our Mayoral Morning Tea! 🎉

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our seniors, come together, share a few laughs and recognise the incredible contribution seniors make to our community

Summer is calling, Mparntwe/Alice Springs! ☀️

Just in time for those beautiful warm, sunny days, our 50-metre pool will be reopening next week on Tuesday 1 September! 🏊‍♀️

And that’s not all! From 1 September, Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre will also be returning to its summer opening hours.

So grab your swimmers, slap on the sunscreen and get ready to make the most of outdoor pool season! 😎☀️

Summer opening hours:
