Last night a number of Albury members attended the Hume Cluster and Murray Capability Awards Night to recognise some of the amazing work of SES volunteers in our community.
In total, 43 Albury SES members received the NSW Premiers Flood Emergency Citation for contribution and service to the 2022-2023 Flood Emergency response. This was a huge flood event where our members contributed hundreds of hours to protect our community both locally and across NSW.
Albury SES unit was also honoured to receive a Commissioner’s Unit Citation for outstanding service to the NSW SES during the 2022-2023 flood emergency for providing critical flood mitigation support across NSW and interstate.
Albury SES also congratulates all volunteers present from other units who were award recipients, with more than 400 years of combined service represented in the room, the night represented the selfless commitment volunteers give to their communities when our community needs it most.
Albury SES is also extremely thankful and grateful for the amazingly kind words of Federation Mayor Cr Cheryl Cook and her touching tribute to our volunteers, it was greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and thank you to all SES volunteers for the contribution you make.
