🎓 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2027 SCHOOL CAPTAINS 🎓

Our new Captains and Vice Captains were officially introduced at a special luncheon in the library today, hosted by our 2026 School Captains.

We congratulate Harrison, Molly, Edo and Lily on their appointments and look forward to seeing them lead our student body with pride, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to Albury High School.

A special thank you to Natalie Thompson, who represented our P&C on the interview panel alongside Year Adviser Ms Eyles, Deputy Principal Mrs McEachern and our Principal. We greatly value the P&C’s involvement in this important school process.

ARTEXPRESS at Bondi Pavilion:

Congratulations to Charlotte Horn, whose HSC Visual Arts work, Clay Date, is currently on exhibition as part of ARTEXPRESS at Bondi Pavilion until the end of October.

From more than 9,500 students who studied HSC Visual Arts in 2025, just 495 students were pre-selected for ARTEXPRESS. From these, 220 works were selected for the 10 statewide showcases, Charlotte’s work is one of only 29 works chosen for exhibition at Bondi Pavilion.

What an incredible achievement and recognition of Charlotte’s outstanding work.

Recently, our Year 11 Metals and Engineering students undertook an industry study visit to a local engineering workshop. These excursions are a fantastic way for our students to gain insights into career pathways within the metals and engineering field and to put classroom learning into practice.

Students got to witness first-hand how a project comes together, from concept to completion. This also allowed our students to witness traditional fabrication and machining techniques alongside cutting-edge CNC machinery. Without the support of local businesses, trips like this would not be possible

🎵 YEAR 11 MUSIC RECITAL 🎵
The year 11 music class presented their final performance assessment to an audience of friends and family last week. From Scott Joplin to Kesha students performed a variety of songs which had everyone captivated. We can't wait to see what they can do in Year 12!

SWAN SHIELD STATE FINALISTS!
Congratulations to the Albury High School Under 16s, who have qualified for the NSW State Final for the third year in a row.

They dominated on their trip to Wollongong, defeating Coffs Harbour 101-6 in the quarter final and then backing it up to defeat The Hills Sports High 98-1 in the semi final.

Another fantastic achievement for the team, who will now take on Endeavour Sports High School in the State Final.

When our children are anxious, our first instinct is often to make things easier for them.

But could helping them through the discomfort, rather than always removing it, actually help them build confidence in their ability to cope?

In this thought-provoking TEDx talk, Dr Eli Lebowitz explores how the way we respond to childhood anxiety can influence how young people learn to manage it.

As part of our Resilience in Our Teens (RIOT) approach we will be adopting, this is an important conversation for us as a school and for families.

Our goal isn't to ignore anxiety — it's to help young people learn: “I can feel anxious and still cope.” 🌱
