🏆 YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR 2026! 🏆

On Thursday 10 September, Ruby represented APHS at the Young Eyes Festival of Innovation at the University of Wollongong Innovation Campus, where she was selected as a finalist alongside other young entrepreneurs.

Ruby presented her innovative idea for a physical bookstore and printing company producing books in OpenDyslexic font, helping students with dyslexia better access their learning.

After pitching her idea in a Shark Tank-style challenge to a panel of entrepreneurs, Ruby impressed the judges and was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2026! 🎉

Ruby has received a cash prize and mentorship to help turn her idea into reality.

A huge thank you to Mr Neaves and Miss Goldstein for supporting Ruby throughout the process, and congratulations to Ruby on this outstanding achievement. Your creativity, determination and desire to make a difference are something to be incredibly proud of! ❤️🖤

Year 11 Business Studies students met a range of Illawarra’s finest female entrepreneurs as part of our annual Women In Business day. Business owners had the opportunity to share their business journey which aligns to our Business Planning topic.

🎤 Year 11 Captain Candidates 🌟

A huge congratulations to our Year 11 Captain candidates who stepped up and delivered their speeches in front of the whole school at this morning’s assembly!

Standing in front of your peers and putting yourself forward for a leadership position takes courage, confidence and a genuine commitment to your school community. Each of our candidates should be incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves and demonstrated the strong leadership qualities we value at APHS.

Regardless of the outcome, putting your hand up to lead is an achievement in itself. We are very proud of you all and wish each candidate the very best! ❤️🖤🤍

🖤💛❤️ Pride, Culture and Connection

We are incredibly proud of our APHS students who represented our school as part of the Yangggaa Garaba Aboriginal Dance Group.

Bringing together approximately 150 Aboriginal primary and secondary students from across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and as far away as Young, the group delivered a powerful performance to the original composition Black Flight.

This year’s costumes featured emu feathers, beautifully connecting the performance to the 2026 Stars theme, ‘Take Flight’.

A special acknowledgement to Georgia, who has danced with the group for a number of years and has been highly praised for the way she guides, supports and leads younger students within the group.

Congratulations to all of our girls on an incredible performance and for the commitment, creativity and pride in culture you continue to demonstrate. 🖤💛❤️
