Fremantle Press is seeking voice actors for its exciting new audiobook pilot.

The audiobook pilot will focus on accessibility in education, and making local stories and Australia’s rich cultural heritage available to more listeners.

Fremantle Press has announced the first three books will be junior to middle readers, with a further three titles to be announced by the end of this year. Blu and the Lost Storm by Sabrina Dudgeon-Swift, Penguin Peril by Deb Fitzpatrick and Sunny & Shadow by Helen Milroy will be launched as audio books in the first quarter of 2027.

New and emerging voice actors are encouraged to apply, with two First Nations narrators sought.

Actors should be residents of Western Australia or, in the case of Blu and the Lost Storm, the Northern Territory.

Recordings will commence from late October through to early January.

You are welcome to apply to be the voice actor for multiple books and these can be included in a single application.

More information about the project and voice submissions can be found here: https://fremantlepress.submittable.com/submit/c84535af-01d5-442c-b963-fa7c23c84709/call-for-western-australian-voice-actors-for-audio-book-pilot
