After more than 12 years of delays, Aireys Inlet Fire Brigade is still without a new station — despite land being secured by the CFA years ago. No progress has been made since, and concerns are growing over the safety and capacity of the current station, which is outdated and no longer fit for purpose.

Located in a high-risk bushfire zone and a busy year-round tourist destination, Aireys Inlet depends on a strong, responsive volunteer brigade. But the current facility, well past its use-by date, is compromising safety and effectiveness. Thanks Surf Coast Times for your ongoing support on this issue.

Today we recognise those who's duty it is to run towards danger when others are told to leave.

On International Firefighter Day, we thank our incredible CFA members and all of those who protect communities in times of crisis and every day in between.

Your courage, commitment and care don't go unnoticed.

⚠️ Burn‑off caution this weekend ⚠️
With strong winds and warmer‑than‑normal conditions forecast, Aireys Inlet CFA is urging residents not to undertake private burn‑offs this weekend. These conditions significantly increase the risk of fires escaping and becoming difficult to control. Today there have been many escaped private burns across the state, tying up fire resources.
Please postpone any planned burn‑offs and help keep our community and firefighters safe. If you see smoke or an unattended fire, call 000 immediately.
Thanks for doing the right thing and staying fire‑safe. 🔥🚒

This escaped burn off in Bambra today shows us just how dry it is. We have warmer weather over the coming days with reasonable northerly winds so check your recent burn offs and reconsider if the conditions are suitable before burning off.
Great work by Barwon Downs CFA and our other neighbouring brigades to our north.

Last week, members of Aireys Inlet CFA were proud to assist Forest Fire Management Victoria with a planned burn in our local area at Moggs Creek.
Planned burns play an important role in reducing fuel loads and helping protect our community ahead of future fire seasons.
A big thanks to FFMVic crews and all agencies involved for the teamwork and professionalism on the day.

A proud morning for our brigade at the ANZAC Day march today.

Members of Aireys Inlet CFA were honoured to take part, standing alongside our community to remember and pay respect to those who have served.

A special mention to Hugh and Colin for laying a wreath on behalf of the brigade — a meaningful tribute on a very important day.

Lest we forget.

🔥 Burn-off reminder for this weekend
CFA is urging landowners to delay any burn-offs ahead of warm, windy conditions forecast across parts of Victoria tomorrow.

Even recent burn-offs can reignite — if you’ve burned off in the last 24–48 hours, make sure it’s fully extinguished and safe.

With temperatures in the mid to high 20s and winds picking up, fires can spread quickly. If in doubt, hold off and stay safe.
