Last Friday was a fantastic afternoon spent celebrating our partnership with the SANFL! 🏉

We hosted a special event at the historic Football Park precinct, giving our guests an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the SANFL High Performance Centre.

After checking out where the elite train, everyone laced up their sneakers to give ECH Walking Footy a go. We wrapped up a brilliant day with a fantastic lunch and great conversation at the Mosaic Hotel.

This week, ECH acknowledges National Reconciliation Week 2026 — a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements.

This year's theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation is a journey we all take together. At ECH, we are committed to fostering a community that is inclusive, respectful and welcoming for everyone.

We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work — and to Elders past, present and emerging.

This week, ECH joins organisations across Australia in celebrating National Volunteers Week — and we could not be prouder of the wonderful volunteers who are part of our community.

The contribution our volunteers make to the lives of ECH clients is immeasurable. Their generosity of time and spirit is something we never take for granted.

This week, we look forward to honouring them at our 2026 Volunteer and Community Engagement Thank You Lunch — a chance to say a heartfelt thank you to the people who give so much.

To every ECH volunteer — thank you. 💙

We were proud to be part of the StudyAdelaide Health & Care Expo 2026, connecting with students who are considering a future in health and care right here in South Australia.

It was a great opportunity to share more about working at ECH, meet motivated international students and graduates, and have real conversations about careers with purpose in aged care and retirement living.

A big thank you to StudyAdelaide for bringing together employers, students and educators for such a well‑run and meaningful event. We loved being involved and look forward to continuing these connections into the future.

Looking for a fun, safe way to get active? Join ECH for a free lunch and a kick of Walking Footy!

On Friday, May 22, we’re hosting a special afternoon at the historic Footy Park Precinct in West Lakes for anyone aged 50 or over. Tour the SANFL High Performance Centre, then give Walking Footy a try for yourself, or just watch and cheer from the sidelines! Afterwards, enjoy a delicious free lunch at the Mosaic Hotel.

The Barossa Grape Escape - Bus Trip🍇

Our Community Engagement Team recently took ECH clients and residents on a beautiful autumn day out in the Barossa Valley — and it did not disappoint!

Morning tea in Gawler, wine tasting and lawn games at Kies Family Wines, lunch at the Monkey Nut Café, and a sweet stop at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company. Oh, and ice cream.

A sing-along on the bus ride home was the perfect end to a day filled with sunshine, great food, laughter and friendship. Memories worth savouring! 🚌

Today marks the first ever National Healthy Ageing Day — and it aligns closely with what drives our work at ECH every day.

Led by not-for-profit iLA, this national initiative brings communities and organisations together under the theme 'Keep doing what matters', shining a light on the power of wellness and reablement approaches in aged care.

At ECH, our commitment to CHSP and SAH guidelines means we work alongside our clients — not just for them. It's about supporting people to remain strong, independent, and connected to the routines and relationships that give life meaning.

Healthy ageing is a shared responsibility, and days like today remind us of the important role every aged care professional, carer, and community play in reshaping what ageing looks like in Australia.
