It is true what they say, "The strength of a workplace lies in the commitment of its people." Loyal employees are the backbone of Accept Care and this week we are shining a light on Support Worker Erica. 🎉
Erica has reached the 7-year milestone with Accept and we would like to recognise and reward her years of impact. She believes that her success is due to the empathy and loyalty she shows. “I love working at Accept, I always feel supported, someone is on the phone to listen to me and hears me.”
Erica supports clients to build towards their goals and offers us valuable insights and suggestions from the field. She admits “There is no other industry for me.”

We Can Diagnose MS Earlier Than Ever. So Why Are People Still Waiting?
Advancements in how multiple sclerosis (MS) is diagnosed mean people can now be diagnosed earlier than ever before. Yet many people globally are still waiting months or even years for a diagnosis and explanation of their symptoms.
When MS is diagnosed early, people can begin disease-modifying treatments that can help delay progression and improve quality of life. A timely diagnosis replaces uncertainty with clarity, giving people with MS answers and the chance to begin treatment sooner.
Earlier diagnosis and treatment can also help reduce avoidable disability and long-term pressure on healthcare systems. Accept stands in support of participants with MS and calls for improved pathways for diagnosis.

👉Around 1.3 billion people live with a significant disability. That is roughly 16% of the world’s population, according to the World Health Organization, and most websites still do not work for them.
That is the gap Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) was created to close, a vision that is recognised every year on May 21. The Purpose of GAAD is to raise awareness and then turn the awareness into action. Webpages fail for those with a disability when a screen reader can not see a button, a colour combination can not be seen by a low-vision reader or if a form can only be accessed by keyboard alone. Think of it as a ‘digital pathway’ working the same way a curb cut away helps wheelchair users.

An employee’s value lies in their skills, engagement, innovation, and contributions to the culture, and long-term growth of a business. Each month we award an Employee Extraordinaire who demonstrates our Accept values in their work.
Our award for March went to Customer Service Coordinator Tess (right), with Service Delivery Manager, Bek (left). Demonstrating all three of our values, Honesty, Kindness and Empowerment in her work. She received glowing compliments for being pivotal to the Customer Service Team by helping staff feel supported and standing next to them in sharing load. Well done Tess!

Last week, Accept Care hosted a stall at the StudyAdelaide Health and Care Expo 2026, This was a great initiative by StudyAdelaide to support the international student community in South Australia.
This was the perfect opportunity to engage with students and identify strong candidates to join our talent community. With our emphasis on supporting the needs of our clients with excellence in care, choosing support workers from similar cultural backgrounds is beneficial and the Expo provided us with the ideal opportunity.

They provide continuous, compassionate care, safeguard vulnerable populations often while working under considerable pressure.
