Congratulations to the Glenunga Rams for getting their top two teams into the Grand Final next Saturday at Norwood Oval. It all starts with the young and this morning I was pleased to be present at the Junior teams Presentation morning. Lots of happy boys and girls, proud parents, Bbq, football awards and passionate coaches and managers. Thanks for helping out too Cr Ted Jennings!

Beaumont Bowling Club had its opening day today and I was delighted to bowl the first bowl before joining them for a lovely lunch. This club is such a strong community…if I had time to commit to this sport, I can see the attraction! They had a great season last year! Thank you for inviting me once again and thank you to all of their sponsors…including Vilis for providing the blue doughnuts.

I had a lovely day off at the Royal Show today..watching live shows like Denim and Lace and The 60 Four, and even the Octonauts! Wood chopping, goats, sheep and the Grand Parade were great and the plants, art and cookery sublime. Lots of proud young people showing what they have learnt at school, ABC radio and a great way to celebrate South Australian agriculture! It was all capped off with a ride atop in the Ferris Wheel. Included was also a visit to the CWA for their scones, tea and cornflake crackles.

Thank you to the Eastern Region SES for running a community information session at Glenunga Hub tonight. It was very useful information and Q &A session. Thank you also to all of their 70 volunteers who serve this very broad community. And thanks to City of Burnside staff who organised it and were in attendance.

I am sitting in the sunshine at Glenunga Oval enjoying the Rams winning the A Grade elimination final! It is great to see so much community spirit, a great crowd with lots of children having fun! Great work Rams! A win in the Reserves, a loss in C Grade and a more than 10 goal victory in the A Grade!

It was a sea of colour and excitement as Burnside Primary School celebrated the 80th year of BookWeek ‘Symphony of Stories’ yesterday. The children paraded around the streets and had a fabulous assembly with a stiltwalker, book winners, terrific costumes, music and fun! Thank you for having me participate! I also loved the William Tell Overture at the end!

Last night was a celebration of music and young people’s achievement at the Adelaide Town Hall. Marryatville High School’s annual concert showcased the talents of both the students and their teachers with wonderful music and song, climaxing with the performance of Kate Miller-Heidke’s ‘Zero Gravity’ by all of the players. Thank you for inviting me once again to your fantastic concert!
