Are you aged 12 to 17 and eager to showcase your artistic skills? The Next Generation Youth Art Prize is back, bigger and brighter than ever before.

This year’s theme, Colours of Youth, is all about celebrating the talent, creativity, and diverse perspectives of young artists from across our community.

So if you are a young artist who lives, works, or studies in the City of Salisbury, this is for you.

Categories include:
• Visual Arts (photography, painting, drawing and sculpture)
• Digital Arts (animation, digital collage and mixed media)
• Wearable Arts (jewellery, clothing, costume design, hats, scarves and textiles)

Winning artists will receive a prize of up to $500 and will be invited to display their works at the Next Generation Youth Art Prize exhibition and Watershed Creative Prize exhibition in 2027.

Submissions close Monday 1 March 2027.

Friday night saw an incredible Battle of the Bands event at Twelve25, with five talented local youth bands taking to the stage and showcasing their skills in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Congratulations to Take Me Time Machine for taking out first place and Soul Keepers for securing the runner-up spot!

Competitors battled it out for some fantastic prizes, including a full day of recording studio time generously sponsored by Northern Sound System, along with professional mixing for the winning band. Runners-up received vouchers kindly provided by Music Corner.

Every band brought their best to the stage, delivering impressive performances and creating an atmosphere of encouragement, respect and support that made the night a celebration of local young talent.

Ready to get your young rider road-ready?

Our popular Road Safety Program is back this September, giving children the opportunity to practise safe riding skills in a realistic road environment.

With bikes and helmets supplied by Bike SA, all your child needs is a willingness to learn and have fun. Parents and guardians are required to stay and supervise throughout the session.

Come and try something new – for free – in the school holidays thanks to Growing for Gold!

Children aged up to 16 can sign up for a range of sports, including athletics, BMX, golf or volleyball, and see if it could be their newest passion!
