A little more yellow around SASI today 💛

Athletes and staff were encouraged to wear yellow as a reminder to check in on your mates, with the gym and athlete kitchen bringing plenty of colour to R U OK? Day 🙌

The athlete kitchen was also the place to be, with Solly Busby and Andrew Schacht serving up smoothies and plenty of opportunities for athletes from different sports to catch up, socialise and chat 🥤💬

A great reminder of the community we have at SASI 💛

A big season starts here 🔴⚽

The Adelaide United men were at SASI as they prepare for the 2026/27 A-League season and AFC Champions League Two 🙌

Their first test comes next Thursday, 17 September against Tai Po FC, before the A-League season begins on Sunday, 25 October 👀

And that’s a wrap on SASI Para Unit LaunchPad #6 👏

After eight weeks, the latest LaunchPad cohort has graduated, with athletes and Para Unit staff coming together for a wheelchair basketball session to celebrate the milestone.

The Gliders are ready for the World Cup 🇦🇺🏀

SASI athletes Lucinda Bueti and Katelin Gunn are set to represent Australia with the Gliders at the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships in Ottawa.

The Gliders open their campaign against China tomorrow night, before facing Canada, Brazil, Great Britain and Spain in the pool stage. A top-four finish will secure a place in the quarterfinals.

LA 2028 secured. Asian champions 🇦🇺🏐

Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher have been crowned 2026 AVC Beach Volleyball Asian Champions after defeating fellow Australians Thomas Hodges and Ben Hood in an incredible all-Australian final in Shangluo, China.

With both Australian teams reaching the gold medal match, Australia had already secured its men’s beach volleyball quota spot for LA 2028 before the final was played 🙌

A hard-fought three-set battle saw Mark and Izac hold off Thomas and Ben 2-1 (21-17, 17-21, 15-12) to claim their first continental title. Australia also secured its third consecutive and eighth overall men’s continental title.

What a tournament for the Aussies. What a result for these four. 👏

World Cup bound 🇦🇺🏀

Isobel Borlase, Zitina Aokuso and Steph Talbot have been selected to represent Australia with the Opals at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin.

Isobel and Steph are both SASI graduates, while Zitina is now based in South Australia playing for the Adelaide Lightning alongside Steph.

The Opals open their campaign against Puerto Rico tomorrow night, with Türkiye and Belgium to follow.

Four more South Australians heading to SSN ❤️

Jazmin McKay, Lucy Voyvodic, Tabitha Packer and Tyler Orr have all secured their first Suncorp Super Netball contracts for 2027.

All four have come through the SASI and Adelaide Thunderbirds pathway, joining a growing group of South Australian netballers competing at the highest level 🚀
