More South Australians getting the skills to feel confident online 👩‍💻

A free digital skills program is expanding across our state's public libraries, helping more people - particularly those who are older or are in regional communities - use their devices, connect with others and navigate the online world safely.

Being Digital offers practical, face-to-face and online sessions covering everything from setting up email and making video calls to protecting your privacy, shopping securely, spotting scams and getting started with AI.

The program is delivered through a partnership between The Libraries Board of SA, Libraries SA and Telstra, and will now expand into more regional areas thanks to a $250,000 Adult Community Education (ACE) grant.

Our state was privileged to host the AKBC and KABC Joint Meeting this week, attracting senior business leaders, industry experts and government officials from across Australia and Korea. 🌏🤝

A flagship event in the Australia and Korea bilateral relationship, holding the Joint Meeting in Adelaide forms part of the SA Government’s strategy to foster increased trade, investment, and economic cooperation with Korea.

Hosting the forum in South Australia provided the opportunity to showcase our state’s competitive advantages to influential industry and government representatives in key sectors including renewable energy and green industrialisation, energy, critical minerals, defence and space, investment, advanced manufacturing, technology and innovation.

Invest SA were proud to deliver a curated program of engagements with the Korean delegation, including an introduction to South Australia event, with Minister for State Development Chris Picton and senior SA Government representatives providing an insight into priorities and opportunities in our state, including an overview of our dynamic energy and infrastructure sectors and a session dedicated to working with the SA Government.

A highlight also included the Critical Minerals roundtable - providing the opportunity to forge key in-person connections with local project developers and senior SA Government representatives, to discover potential partnership opportunities in our state.

The Joint Meeting presented a key chance to deepen our engagement with Korea, connect businesses, and create opportunities that will benefit our two regions.

Building South Australia–India innovation connections 💡🌏

The first cohort of Adelaide University’s ThincLab and OP Jindal Global University’s IDEATE Labs Founder Exchange Program has concluded, connecting South Australian and Indian founders across both markets and culminating in a roundtable at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi, supported by our India in-market team.

The program, funded through a Maitri Grant from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Centre for Australia-India Relations provided an important opportunity for SA and Indian founders to build relationships, test their ideas in new markets and connect with government, industry, investors and innovation ecosystems in both countries.

These connections are critical to opening doors for future trade and investment opportunities, strengthening our innovation networks, and building the long-term partnerships that underpin the South Australia-India relationship.

We were proud to support the program by providing market insight briefings to South Australian founders before departure, and to the Indian delegation during their time in Adelaide, helping founders build their market knowledge and forge meaningful global connections.
