We know another survey is probably not high on anyoneโ€™s 'must do that' list. There are plenty circulating at the moment, and we also recognise that 20โ€“25 minutes is not a small ask during a busy working day.

The reason we are asking businesses to make that time is that responses to our 2026 Regional Business Survey will give us stronger local evidence to guide our work and advocate for the support, services and investment businesses across our region need. For the findings to be genuinely useful, we need to hear from businesses of different sizes, industries and locations.

If you own, operate or manage a business in our region, we would really appreciate your input. The survey closes on Sunday 13 September and everyone who completes it can enter the draw to win one of four $100 vouchers.

Complete the survey here:

Please also feel free to share this with other local businesses in your network.

In the small business playbook, we walk through everyday scenarios to show what small business owners need to know and do.

This scenario ๐Ÿซง

Leo runs a cleaning business. He has regular clients and his schedule stays consistently busy. On paper, everything looks good.

But over time, the cost of cleaning supplies, fuel and travel has increased. Leo hasn't reviewed his pricing in years and assumes the steady workflow means the business is doing well.

After checking his finances more closely, he discovers his profit margins are smaller than expected.

With help from business.gov.au, Leo takes a fresh look at his pricing strategy. He puts a few practical steps in place:
โœจ Reviews his pricing to make sure it reflects current costs.
โœจ Tracks expenses, including supplies, travel and equipment.
โœจ Identifies services that generate the strongest returns.

Leo now understands what drives profit. By reviewing his pricing and expenses, he can make more confident business decisions.

Even when business is steady, costs can quietly add up. Reviewing your prices can help keep your profits on track.

Businesses are invited to take the Regional Business Survey 2026, which provides a snapshot of business sentiment across the Barossa, Gawler, Light and Adelaide Plains region.

Facilitated by Regional Development Australia, the survey polls how businesses are feeling, their challenges and workforce pressures, plans for investment and their outlook for the regional economy.

Everyone who completes the survey can enter the draw to win one of four $100 vouchers. ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://ow.ly/t4GB50ZEn5O
