A little world made just for kids is coming to the State Library.
We're excited to introduce Little Library – a free and inclusive library for children aged 0–11 and their families, opening in August 2026.
Filled with books, stories, imaginative play and hands-on discovery, Little Library has been designed from a child's perspective to spark curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of reading. Created in collaboration with City of Adelaide Libraries and inspired by the message that children learn through reading, talking, singing and playing, it will be a place where children and families can explore, learn and create together.
Children and families will be able to enjoy local stories, interactive experiences, a changing program of activities and events, and books to borrow and continue the adventure at home.
We can't wait to welcome families into this colourful new world of stories, imagination and discovery in the heart of Adelaide.
