Celebrating you, our incredible volunteers 💛

More than 140 passionate educators were recognised at Educators SA’s sixth Volunteers’ Service Ceremony during National Volunteer Week, held at the beautiful Yitpi Yartapuultiku Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Port Adelaide.

From first-year volunteers to those reaching an amazing 40+ years of service, the evening celebrated the educators who generously give their time outside of school hours to strengthen and support South Australia’s education community.

Awards were proudly presented by Educators SA Chief Executive Lisa-Jane O’Connor alongside Volunteering SA/NT CEO Hamilton Calder.

The evening also marked a special moment as Educators Care announced Operation Flinders Foundation as its 2026 charity partner, presenting a cheque for $1042 representing 1042 years of collective volunteer service by our association volunteers.

This morning, the Educators SA team had the privilege of attending the 2026 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Tarntanya/Adelaide. ❤️🖤💛

This year’s theme, All In, was a powerful reminder that reconciliation is not something we simply watch from the sidelines. It asks all of us to lean in, listen, learn, and take action together.

We were inspired by the incredible speakers and performers throughout the morning, including keynote speaker Eddie Betts, MC Shelley Ware, along with moving performances by Casey Donovan and Nathan May.

The question now is… are you All In?

If you missed this morning’s event, or would like to revisit the powerful conversations and performances, you can access the livestream replay on CTV Plus Livestream Replay: https://buff.ly/G96qDSt

All In for Reconciliation ❤️💛🖤

National Reconciliation Week 2026 (27 May – 3 June) is a time for learning, listening, reflecting and taking action together.

At Educators SA, we stand with educators across South Australia in supporting truth-telling, understanding our shared history, and strengthening respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.

Reconciliation is not a moment — it’s an ongoing commitment.
This week, we encourage educators, schools and communities to be all in — through conversation, classroom learning and meaningful action.

Bring your brilliance to public education. ✨

We’re incredibly proud to have the Department for Education, South Australia supporting the 2026 Educators’ Ball as a Platinum Sponsor.

This powerful message shines a spotlight on the passion, dedication and brilliance our public educators bring to classrooms and communities across South Australia every single day.

Together, we’re celebrating the people shaping future generations and recognising the extraordinary impact of public education.
