Most of us move through Adelaide without thinking too hard about the ground beneath us.

Through her work as a Cultural Training and Tour Guide for Bookabee Australia, Iteka Sanderson-Bromley encourages people to look beyond the places we see every day, and understand the stories, culture and history that have existed for thousands of years.

This National Reconciliation Week, she wants more South Australians to understand that Reconciliation doesn’t start and end with one week in the calendar – it begins with understanding where you are.

What age did you get your first phone? 📲

More than 70 South Australian schools have already signed up to a new program helping parents delay smartphone use for their children.

Wait Mate, which will be made available in every public and private school in SA, will include school presentations, practical resources and support for parents to create phone-free pacts, following research linking earlier smartphone use with poorer health outcomes for children.

Hundreds of undersized Blue Swimmer crabs have been seized at Thompson Beach in one of the worst fisheries breaches seen this year. Five people were fined for collecting undersized crabs and exceeding the bag limit by 140. The current bag limit is 20 per person.

Size and bag limits are critical to protecting long-term sustainability of the species and maintain healthy populations, ensuring future generations can continue to enjoy recreational crabbing 🦀

Today is National Sorry Day. We acknowledge the Stolen Generations Survivors – those who were forcibly removed from their families, communities, culture and Country as children.

We also acknowledge the families, descendants and communities who have carried the enduring weight of this trauma across generations.

Today is an opportunity to reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.

The three tunnel boring machines that will help deliver a non-stop South Road have officially been named, honouring pioneering South Australian suffragists Catherine Helen Spence, Elizabeth Webb Nicholls and Mary Lee.

All three TBMs will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, progressing approximately 8-10 metres per day.
