Two of our First Officers Indianna and Alexandra attended the 2026 Australian Women Pilots’ Association National Conference in early May.

The conference brought together more than 200 women aviators and aviation professionals from across the country to connect, learn and celebrate a shared passion for flight.

Thank you to the Australian Women Pilots' Association (AWPA) for hosting such an inspiring event and for the warm welcome extended to our team members.

We’re proud to support initiatives that help strengthen, support and create opportunities for people within the industries in which we operate.

Investing in the future of Australia's aerospace industry ✈️

We're proud to once again partner with Adelaide University to support an engineering student project that is helping develop the next generation of aerospace talent while exploring innovative solutions to real-world aviation challenges.

This year's team of six students is continuing development of a morphing wing design aimed at improving aircraft performance and efficiency. The project will investigate technologies that can automatically optimise wing configuration during flight to minimise drag and maximise lift, with the potential to reduce fuel burn and lower CO₂ emissions.

At Leidos, we know the future of our industry depends on both innovation and people. Supporting opportunities like this helps students gain valuable hands-on experience, connect with industry, and develop the skills that will shape the future of aerospace engineering in Australia.

A special thank you to our Head of Fleet, Reuben Chambers, who has championed this partnership for many years. Through his ongoing support and engagement with the students, Reuben has helped create valuable opportunities for aspiring engineers to gain real-world industry exposure and insight.

Congratulations to George Cox, Sophie Giavis, Julia Paneras, Molly Bond, Gemma Schaedel and Eleni Malandris. We look forward to following your progress throughout the year.

Please join us in congratulating Tuia on her successful appointment as our newest Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer based in Cairns. ✈️🔧

What makes Tuia’s journey even more special is that she started with us as a Ground Handler before successfully applying for and securing her apprenticeship - a fantastic example of the career pathways available within the aviation industry.

We’re proud to support emerging talent and look forward to seeing Tuia grow and develop with Leidos.

A special moment for our crews last week! One of two divers rescued off the Queensland coast was reunited with the team involved in the search and rescue mission that helped bring them home safely.

The emotional reunion was featured on 7 News across Australia, highlighting the incredible coordination between agencies and the dedication of the people behind these life-saving operations.

At Leidos Australia, we’re proud to deliver this vital search and rescue capability on behalf of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority - AMSA - supporting missions that truly make a difference when every second counts.

A huge thank you to 7NEWS Australia and reporter Kristy Mayr for sharing this powerful story.

Most importantly, thank you everyone at Leidos, AMSA, State Police and Volunteer Marine Rescue who all work together around the clock to help keep Australians safe.

Congratulations to Braedyn, a Senior Accountant in our Airborne Solutions team who has reached an incredible milestone – 30 years with us. 👏

Braedyn joined the business in 1996 as an Accounts Payable Officer and over the years, he has grown alongside the organisation – completing a Bachelor of Commerce and becoming CPA qualified, all while navigating the many changes and evolutions of the business.

Recently, Braedyn was presented with his 30-year service certificate by our Director of Programs Steve Pirie, recognising a career defined by dedication, adaptability and commitment.

Braedyn shared the secret to his 30-year tenure: “The business has evolved so much over that time, with constant challenges and opportunities - so it’s never been boring!”

Outside of work, you’ll find him chasing new challenges, having recently completed his first marathon. He also enjoys travelling the world (with recent trips to Turkey and Japan), or spending hours in the kitchen cooking for family and friends.

Thank you, Braedyn, for your incredible contribution over the past 30 years. Your commitment has made a lasting impact across the business. ✈️

We are incredibly proud of everyone involved in this exceptional search-and-rescue outcome, locating and rescuing two scuba divers who were lost at sea for more than 20 hours.

It reflects not only the skill of our crew and capability of the Challenger jet, but the multi-agency teamwork and collaboration necessary in this line of work.

Proud to support Australian Maritime Safety Authority - AMSA in this coordinated rescue effort off Cooktown. A great example of teamwork across air, sea and community responders - and a powerful reminder of why preparation and right safety equipment matter.

Heading out on the water? Remember, preparation saves lives. Early this morning, AMSA responded to an emergency beacon that was activated from a vessel north of Cooktown, Queensland. Thanks to a registered EPIRB and distress flare, AMSA was able to quickly locate the three people on board and rescue...

How’s your work view? 👀✈️

Turquoise waters, coral reefs and 122 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean - not a bad office for the day.

These incredible shots of the Houtman Abrolhos Islands, about 80km off the coast of Geraldton (WA), were captured by one of our Mission Aircrew during a training flight.

Just one of the many unique perspectives our crews experience while supporting operations across Australia.
