Yesterday, Ambassador Fisher met with FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl for an exchange of views on current international developments and his party’s priorities for Austria.

🇺🇸🏈🇦🇹 Last week, the Seattle Seahawks wrapped up an inspiring visit to Vienna, highlighting the power of American football to connect communities across the Atlantic.

From youth flag football camps and inspiring student talks to a donation to Special Olympics Austria at Schloss Schönbrunn and a visit to a Vienna Vikings game, the Seahawks’ program celebrated teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange.

Thank you to the Seahawks for strengthening ties between American football communities in the United States and Austria. We look forward to building on this momentum through future sports diplomacy collaborations.

Here in Vienna, Ambassador Fisher has selected a variety of pieces, including iconic pop imagery of Jasper Johns to the historical lithographs of Currier and Ives.

🇺🇸🔬🇦🇹 Great minds are thinking quantum! The 39th annual Jugend Innovativ National Final took place in Vienna, Austria on May 29. HTL Bregenz students Jonas Stadelmann and Julian Übelher teamed up with researchers at Virginia Tech to develop a smarter way for the algorithm to recognize when it has stalled and keep improving — a step toward using quantum computing to tackle complex scientific challenges more efficiently. They were one of 36 finalists out of more than 400 submissions across Austria, and they won 1st prize in the Science category. Congratulations Jonas and Julian! Another winning example of transatlantic cooperation.

🇺🇸🏈🇦🇹 What better way to celebrate the Seattle Seahawks’ visit to Vienna than with an American football game in Austria?

Ambassador Fisher joined fans at the Vienna Vikings vs. Rhein Fire game at Generali Arena, where he performed the coin toss and highlighted the strong transatlantic ties built through sports.

A big thank you to Austria’s vibrant American football community. We’re excited to see the sport continue to grow — all the way to flag football’s Olympic debut at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

🇺🇸🤷🛂😱 American citizens! Are you ready to visit Austria and travel through Europe for your summer adventure? You are in for a treat!

At the same time, be aware: Passports regularly get lost or stolen on trains or are forgotten in shops and restaurants. Don’t let this happen to you!

What can you do to keep your passport safe?

✅ Keep your passport on you, not in a bag. Use a pocket with a zipper or closure, or a pouch you can hide under your clothes. Do not put passports in outer pockets or other easily accessible places.

✅ Be vigilant with your bags. Always keep them within eyesight and reach.

✅ Check your surroundings. If something feels suspicious, collect your belongings and remove yourself from the situation.

✅ Wear your backpack or bag in front of you in busy or unsafe areas.
