🎬 Στο Graz, στο πλαίσιο της προβολής της Κύπρου και της κυπριακής προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ, η Πρεσβεία της Κύπρου στην Βιέννη διοργάνωσε ψες βραδιά προβολής των κυπριακών ταινιών «Όταν σιγούν τα χελιδόνια» και «Γάλα-Τριαντάφυλλο», σε σκηνοθεσία Κωνσταντίνου Πατσαλίδη και σενάριο-παραγωγή Γιώργου Αβραάμ. Αξιωματούχοι των Αρχών του Κρατιδίου της Στυρίας, μέλη του προξενικού Σώματος του Graz και φίλοι της Πρεσβείας της #κυπριακήςδημοκρατίας παρέστησαν και τους ευχαριστούμε.

Οι ταινίες, που προβλήθηκαν προηγουμένως στην Βιέννη στις 26 Μαρτίου στο πλαίσιο του πολιτιστικού προγράμματος Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ, ανέδειξαν θεματικές όπως η μνήμη, η ταυτότητα, ο εκτοπισμός και η αστική μεταμόρφωση, ζητήματα που συνδέονται άμεσα με τη σύγχρονη ευρωπαϊκή εμπειρία. 🎭

🎬 As part of the promotion of Cyprus and the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Embassy of Cyprus in Vienna organized a screening evening in Graz yesterday, featuring the Cypriot films When the Swallows Fall Silent and Milk-Rose, directed by Konstantinos Patsalides and written and produced by George Avraam.
Officials from the Styrian State Government, members of the Consular Corps in Graz, and friends of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus attended the event, and we extend our sincere thanks for their presence and support.

The films, which were previously screened in Vienna on 26 March as part of the cultural programme of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, highlighted themes such as memory, identity, displacement, and urban transformation—issues that are closely linked to the contemporary European experience. 🎭

🎬 Im Rahmen der Förderung Zyperns und der zypriotischen EU-Ratspräsidentschaft veranstaltete die Botschaft der Republik Zypern in Wien gestern Abend in Graz einen Filmabend mit den Filmen „Όταν σιγούν τα χελιδόνια“ (Wenn die Schwalben verstummen) und „Γάλα-Τριαντάφυλλο“ (Milch-Rose), in Regie von Konstantinos Patsalides und nach dem Drehbuch von Georg Avraam. An der Veranstaltung nahmen Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Behörden der Steiermark, Mitglieder des Konsularischen Korps in Graz sowie Freundinnen und Freunde der Botschaft teil. Ihnen allen gilt unser herzlicher Dank für ihre Anwesenheit und Unterstützung.

Die Filme, die bereits am 26. März in Wien im Rahmen des Kulturprogramms der zypriotischen EU-Ratspräsidentschaft gezeigt wurden, behandeln die Themen Erinnerung, Identität, Vertreibung und städtischer Wandel, die eng mit der zeitgenössischen europäischen Erfahrung verbunden sind. 🎭

📌 Ο Πρέσβης της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας Ανδρέας Ιγνατίου είχε χθες παραγωγικές συναντήσεις και ενδιαφέρουσες συζητήσεις με την Αντιπεριφερειάρχη της Κυβέρνησης του ομόσπονδου κρατιδίου της Στυρίας, Manuela Khom, καθώς και με τον Β΄ Πρόεδρο του Κοινοβουλίο της Στυρίας, Werner Amon.
Παράλληλα, παρουσίασε τις προτεραιότητες και τα επιτεύγματα της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας στην Επιτροπή Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων του Κοινοβουλίου της Στυρίας, ενώ ακολούθησε εις βάθος συζήτηση για τα τρέχοντα ζητήματα και τις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζει η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. 🇪🇺

📌 Ambassador Andreas Ignatiou had yesterday productive meetings and interesting discussions with Deputy Governor of the Styrian State Government, Manuela Khom and the Second Speaker of the Styrian State Parliament, Werner Amon. He also presented the Cyprus Presidency priorities and accomplishments before the Styrian State Parliament EU Committee followed by an in-depth discussion on current issues and challenges in the EU. 🇪🇺

📌 Der Botschafter der Republik Zypern, Andreas Ignatiou, führte gestern produktive und interessante Gespräche mit der Landeshauptmann-Stellvertreterin der Steiermark, Manuela Khom, sowie mit dem Zweiten Präsidenten des Landtags Steiermark, Werner Amon. Darüber hinaus stellte er dem Ausschuss für europäische Angelegenheiten des Landtags Steiermark die Prioritäten und Erfolge des zypriotischen EU-Ratsvorsitzes vor. Anschließend fand eine eingehende Diskussion über aktuelle Fragen und Herausforderungen der Europäischen Union statt. 🇪🇺

📌 Στο πλαίσιο της 35ης Συνόδου της Επιτροπής του ΟΗΕ για την Πρόληψη του Εγκλήματος και την Ποινική Δικαιοσύνη (CCPCJ), η οποία πραγματοποιείται στη Βιέννη μεταξύ 1-5 Ιουνίου, πραγματοποιήθηκε χθες εκδήλωση αναφορικά με την έκθεση του UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime για την παράνομη διακίνηση πολιτιστικών αγαθών στη Μέση Ανατολή και Βόρεια Αφρική. Συμμετείχαν ομιλητές από πλευράς UNODC, INTERPOL, UNESCO, Αίγυπτο, Ιταλία και Λίβανο. Η εκδήλωση υποστηρίχθηκε από την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία, στο πλαίσιο της εξαιρετικής συνεργασίας Κύπρου – UNODC στον τομέα της καταπολέμησης της παράνομης διακίνησης πολιτιστικών αγαθών, καθώς και από την Αίγυπτο, την Ιταλία, το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και την INTERPOL.

📌 In the framework of the 35th Session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), which is taking place in Vienna between 1-5 June, a side-event was held yesterday regarding the launch of the UNODC report on the trafficking of cultural property in the Middle East and North Africa. Speakers from Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, UNODC, INTERPOL, and UNESCO participated. The side-event event was supported by the Republic of Cyprus, within the context of the excellent Cyprus-UNODC cooperation against the illicit trafficking of cultural property, as well as by Egypt, Italy, the United Kingdom and INTERPOL.

📌 Im Rahmen der 35. Tagung der Kommission der Vereinten Nationen für Verbrechensverhütung und Strafrechtspflege, die vom 1. bis 5. Juni in Wien stattfindet, wurde gestern eine Parallelveranstaltung zur Präsentation des Berichts des UN-Büros für Drogen und Verbrechensbekämpfung (UNODC) über den rechtswidrigen Handel mit Kulturgütern im Nahen Osten und in Nordafrika abgehalten. An der Veranstaltung nahmen Vortragende des UNODC, von INTERPOL, der UNESCO sowie aus Ägypten, Italien und dem Libanon teil. Die Veranstaltung wurde von der Republik Zypern – im Rahmen der ausgezeichneten Zusammenarbeit zwischen Zypern und dem UNODC bei der Bekämpfung des rechtswidrigen Handels mit Kulturgütern – sowie von Ägypten, Italien, dem Vereinigten Königreich und INTERPOL unterstützt.

🇨🇾 Στο πλαίσιο της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ, πραγματοποιήθηκε σήμερα συνάντηση των Αρχηγών Αποστολών της ΕΕ με τον Εκτελεστικό Γραμματέα του CTBTO, Δρ. Robert Floyd. Οι συζητήσεις επικεντρώθηκαν στις πρόσφατες διεθνείς εξελίξεις στον τομέα της ασφάλειας, στη σημασία της διατήρησης του παγκόσμιου κανόνα κατά των πυρηνικών δοκιμών, στην καθολική υιοθέτηση και την έναρξη ισχύος της Συνθήκης για την Πλήρη Απαγόρευση των Πυρηνικών Δοκιμών, καθώς και στις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζει ο CTBTO. 🇪🇺

🇨🇾 Within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, an EU Heads of Mission meeting was held today with The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization CTBTO Executive Secretary Dr. Robert Floyd. Discussions focused on recent international security developments, the importance of preserving the global norm against nuclear testing, the universalization and entry into force of the CTBT, and the challenges CTBTO is facing. 🇪🇺

🇨🇾 Im Rahmen der zypriotischen Präsidentschaft im Rat der Europäischen Union fand heute ein Treffen der Missionsleiterinnen und -leiter der EU-Mitgliedstaaten mit dem Exekutivsekretär der CTBTO, Dr. Robert Floyd, statt.

Η Αντιπροσωπεία της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής στη Σλοβενία και η Πρεσβεία της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στην Αυστρία, με διαπίστευση και στη Σλοβενία, υποδέχθηκαν φίλους της Κύπρου σε μια εκδήλωση γεμάτη μουσική, πολιτισμό και μεσογειακές γεύσεις. 🇪🇺🇨🇾

The European Commission Representation in Slovenia and the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Austria, also accredited to Slovenia, welcomed friends of Cyprus to an event filled with music, culture, and Mediterranean flavors. 🇪🇺🇨🇾

🎵 Guests had the opportunity to embark on a musical journey through the timeless melodies of the renowned Cypriot composer Marios Tokas, beautifully performed by Loukia Agapiou, Giannis Raptis, and Elena Karapataki.

🎶 Through heartfelt ballads, traditional melodies, and contemporary interpretations, the music brought to life stories of love, homeland, memory, and cultural connection, bringing Cyprus closer to the heart of Europe.

🍷 The evening concluded with a reception and tasting of Cypriot delicacies, offering guests an authentic experience of Cypriot hospitality.

🇨🇾 Η Πρεσβεία της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στην Αυστρία, διαπιστευμένη και στη Σλοβενία, διοργάνωσε σήμερα συνάντηση και πρόγευμα εργασίας των Αρχηγών Αποστολών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης στη Σλοβενία με επίτιμη προσκεκλημένη την Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας της Σλοβενίας, Nataša Pirc Musar.

Η συνάντηση εργασίας πραγματοποιήθηκαν σε εποικοδομητικό κλίμα, προσφέροντας σημαντική ευκαιρία για ανταλλαγή απόψεων επί θεμάτων κοινού ευρωπαϊκού και διεθνούς ενδιαφέροντος, καθώς και για περαιτέρω ενίσχυση του διαλόγου και της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των κρατών-μελών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.

🇨🇾 Today, the Embssy of the Republic of Cyprus in Austria, also accredited to Slovenia, organised a working breakfast meeting for the Heads of Mission of the European Union Member States in Slovenia, with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, as guest of honour.

The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, providing an important opportunity for the exchange of views on issues of common European and international interest, as well as for the further strengthening of dialogue and cooperation among the Member States of the European Union.

During the discussion, participants addressed, inter alia, certain domestic political issues, matters relating to defence and European security in light of current geopolitical challenges, the European Union’s enlargement policy, as well as the challenges and opportunities arising from the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

🎯 Σήμερα, ο Πρέσβης της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στην Αυστρία, με διαπίστευση και στη Σλοβενία, κ. Ανδρέας Ιγνατίου, πραγματοποίησε συνάντηση με τον Βουλευτή και Πρόεδρο της Επιτροπής Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων του Σλοβενικού Δημοκρατικού Κόμματος (SDS), κ. Franc Breznik, καθώς και με τον Πρόεδρο του κόμματος Νέα Σλοβενία – Χριστιανοδημοκράτες (NSi), κ. Jernej Vrtovec.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης, πραγματοποιήθηκε ανταλλαγή απόψεων για ζητήματα που αφορούν την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, τις προτεραιότητες της Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ, καθώς και ευρύτερες ευρωπαϊκές εξελίξεις κοινού ενδιαφέροντος. 🎯 Today, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Austria, with accreditation to Slovenia, Mr. Andreas Ignatiou, held a meeting with Member of Parliament and Chair of the Committee on EU Affairs of the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), Mr. Franc Breznik, as well as with the President of the New Slovenia – Christian Democrats (NSi), Mr. Jernej Vrtovec.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues concerning the European Union, the priorities of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as broader European developments of mutual interest. In addition, discussions focused on political developments in Slovenia and the ongoing processes related to the formation of the new government, which is expected to be established in the near future. 🇨🇾🤝🇸🇮

🎯 Heute hatte der Botschafter der Republik Zypern in Österreich mit Akkreditierung auch in Slowenien, Herr Andreas Ignatiou, ein Treffen mit dem Abgeordneten und Vorsitzenden des Ausschusses für EU-Angelegenheiten der Slowenischen Demokratischen Partei (SDS), Herrn Franc Breznik, sowie mit dem Vorsitzenden der Partei Neues Slowenien – Christdemokraten (NSi), Herrn Jernej Vrtovec.

Im Rahmen des Treffens gab es einen Meinungsaustausch zu Themen, die die Europäische Union, die Prioritäten der EU-Ratspräsidentschaft sowie allgemeinere europäische Entwicklungen von gemeinsamem Interesse betreffen.
