On the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2026, Lebanon, as Co-chair of the UNODC Group of Friends on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, took part in a public diplomacy event held on Friday, 6 March 2026, at the Fountain – Memorial Plaza of the Vienna International Center, highlighting the collective commitment to advancing the empowerment of women and girls.

Ambassador designate of Lebanon Mrs. Cynthia Chidiac made an inaugural visit on 7 November 2025 to H.E. Mr. Nikolaus Marschik, the Secretary General for Foreign Affairs at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, following her presenting a “copie d’usage” of her credentials to the Chief of Protocol at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Maximilian Hennig.
