Wir, die ÖH Uni Wien, sind deine Interessensvertretung an der größten Universität in Österreich. Wir vertreten dich gegenüber dem Rektorat, setzten uns für bessere Studienbedingungen ein und helfen dir mit Beratungsangeboten über die Hürden deines Studiums. Die ÖH Uni Wien bekennt sich zudem ausdrücklich zum allgemeinpolitischen Mandat. Die hochschulpolitische Situation an den Universitäten ist geprägt von Studienplatzbewirtschaftung, Leistungsdenken, Konkurrenzprinzip und Verwertbarkeit von Bildung und Menschen. Studiengebühren und Knock-Out-Prüfungen sind Zeichen der zunehmenden Anpassung des Bildungssystems an marktkonforme Mechanismen. Aufgrund der zunehmenden Prekarisierung der Studienbedingungen, die sich vor allem in der Kürzung von Sozialleistungen manifestiert, wird Raum für kritisches Lernen und Lehren eingeschränkt. Die aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Zustände sind geprägt durch Ideologien der Ungleichheit, strukturelle Diskriminierung von Frauen*, Rassismus, Homo*Trans*Interphobie, Heterosexismus und die grundsätzliche Marginalisierung von gesellschaftlich Benachteiligten. Wir als ÖH Uni Wien beschränken uns nicht nur auf eine Kritik der Gesellschaft und der Hochschulpolitik und Symptombekämpfung, sondern setzen Initiativen, die auf eine grundlegende Veränderung der Verhältnisse abzielen. ❓Du interessierst dich für Kampfsport aber fühlst dich in den meisten Kursen als FLINTA* unwohl?

🥊Das Antifa- und Sportreferat der ÖH Uni Wien organisiert einen Thaiboxkurs (Muay Thai) für Frauen, Lesben, inter, nicht binäre, trans* und agender Personen. Wenn du Interesse hast, schreib eine Email mit deiner Studienrichtung und 1-2 Sätzen, warum du den Kurs gerne besuchen möchtest bis 13.09.2026, 23:59 an [email protected].
Schreib uns außerdem, wenn du dich schon wiederholt für den Boxkurs anmeldest, aber bis jetzt noch keinen Platz bekommen hast. Wir werden euch kurz nach der Anmeldefrist Bescheid geben, ob ihr einen Platz habt, es wird auch eine Warteliste geben.

❓Warum nur für FLINTA*?
Für Frauen, Lesben, inter*, nicht-binäre, trans* und agender Personen sind Kampfsporträume oft kein sicherer Ort. Wir wollen daher einen Raum schaffen, in dem FLINTA* Personen ungestört gemeinsam trainieren können. Alle Personen, die sich auf irgendeine Weise unter den oben genannten Begriffen verstehen, sind willkommen. Du musst nicht ‚beweisen‘, dass du eine FLINTA* Person bist, du bist willkommen, so wie du bist. Wir arbeiten im Moment an einer Lösung auch die Umkleidesituation so zu regeln, dass es möglich ist, sich an einem Ort außerhalb der binären Regelung umzuziehen. Wenn du mehr Fragen dazu hast, kannst du dich ebenfalls per Email bei uns melden.

🥊Was? Thaiboxen oder auch Muay Thai ist eine Kampfsport Art, die sich ursprünglich in Thailand entwickelte und weltweit praktiziert wird. Neben Boxschlägen sind auch Kick-, Knie- und Ellbogentechniken, sowie das sogenannte Clinchen wichtige Bestandteile des Trainings.
Ziel des Thaiboxtrainings ist es mit Spaß in Bewegung zu kommen, die grundlegenden Techniken von Muay Thai zu erlernen, die eigenen Kraft kennenzulernen und in einem guten Miteinander eigene Grenzen auszutesten.

On July 27, 2025, police carried out a large-scale operation at the Peršmanhof in Carinthia/Koroška against a peaceful anti-fascist youth and educational camp. The camp was dedicated to historical and political education as well as to collectively commemorating the anti-fascist resistance. Nevertheless, K-9 units, a helicopter, and drones were deployed to search the memorial site. In addition, identity checks were conducted and a house search took place.
During World War II, the Peršmanhof was an important base for Carinthian partisans. On April 25, 1945, the farm became the scene of a massacre: SS and Police Regiment 13 stormed the farm and murdered eleven members of the Sadovnik and Kogoj families living there. Today, the Peršmanhof serves both as a memorial to the Carinthian Slovenes persecuted by the N***s and as a place of remembrance for the courageous resistance of the partisans during World War II.
The operation drew criticism throughout Austria. In retrospect, parts of the police operation were deemed unlawful, and the authorities’ actions were widely questioned. At the same time, a comprehensive political reckoning has largely failed to materialize. This is precisely why it is important to remember the incident: It raises fundamental questions about how anti-fascist remembrance work, civic engagement, and historical memorial sites are handled.
Although it was determined in retrospect that the police had clearly acted improperly, such attempts to intimidate people committed to the anti-fascist cause are not isolated incidents.
Anti-fascism remains more important than ever. The culture of remembrance, historical education, and political activism must not become targets of state repression.

Yesterday, on July 25, 2026, tens of thousands of people gathered in Berlin for Christopher Street Day to fight for q***r rights. During the event, an attack occurred in which a car plowed into the crowd, injuring several people; some have already been reported dead.

For us, it’s clear: This is an attack on q***r rights. We mourn those we’ve lost and stand in solidarity against anti-q***r hatred—in Berlin and around the world!

No place for anti-Semitism!

Last week, on the 1st In July, a Jewish artist was attacked by anti-Semitic during an artistic intervention to contextualise the Karl Lueger Monument in the middle of Vienna.
Even before that, there was a major police operation, as the artist had been reported due to a „disruption of public order“.
This had already been preceded by a major police operation, as the artist had been reported for ‘disturbing public order’. The police raised the suspicion of serious damage to property. This allegation is completely disproportionate to the actual methods used in the action, which involved only removable stickers and water-soluble spray chalk.
Similarly, on Saturday July 4th, an FPÖ activist, who is also a member of a student fraternity, tore down one of the artist’s banners.
The very location of the incident highlights its political dimension. For years the monument of the former mayor of Vienna has been a symbol of the unresolved confrontation with Vienna’s anti-Semitic past and a popular meeting place for far-right groups. Karl Lueger was an avowed anti-Semite and a role model for Hi**er, and yet his statue still stands prominently in the centre of Vienna to this day. The hostile reactions demonstrate the significance the monument still holds and highlight the urgent need to remove the statue.

These incidents are appalling and deeply worrying, as they clearly show that the number of anti-Semitic and racist incidents is on the rise even in public spaces. Anti-Semitism has no place in our society and must be opposed loudly and consistently!
