BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA — On 3 September, Ambassador Grace T. Cruz-Fabella delivered a lecture on Philippine foreign policy before members of the Asian Affairs Committee of the Consejo Argentino para las Relaciones Internacionales (CARI) at its headquarters in Buenos Aires.

The Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI) is one of Latin America’s leading foreign policy think tanks, bringing together a distinguished community of experts and researchers with specialized knowledge of Asia, including Southeast Asia.

Ambassador Cruz-Fabella discussed the priorities of the Philippines’ Chairship of ASEAN in 2026, Philippine foreign policy priorities, and ways to advance bilateral relations between the Philippines and Argentina.

The lecture and ensuing dialogue with Dr. Jorge Malena and esteemed members present provided a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding between the Philippines and Argentina through a constructive exchange of views.-END

The Philippine Embassy in Argentina proudly joins the Filipino nation in the observance of the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 (𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐨) this September, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 316, signed on 14 September 2017.
MANAMo is an annual celebration that deepens appreciation of our maritime heritage and underscores the Philippines’ vital role as an archipelagic nation.
This year’s theme, “𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚-𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐚𝐧”, reminds us that our seas are not only geographic boundaries but lifelines that:
🫂Sustain communities
🛶Support livelihoods
🐟Provide food security
🪸Harbor extraordinary biodiversity
Their protection is a collective duty. It reflects our nation’s unwavering commitment to defend legitimate maritime rights under international law, while emphasizing 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 over confrontation.

Today, 27 August 2026, marks the 78th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of the Philippines and the Argentine Republic.

Philippine-Argentine diplomatic relations are among the oldest in Southeast Asia and South America, founded on shared values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.

The Philippines and Argentina work closely together in agriculture, culture, and increasing bilateral trade as well as emerging areas for cooperation in space, and science and technology.

The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires reaffirms its commitment to deepening the enduring friendship and partnership between the Philippines and Argentina.-END
