We had a first meeting with Director General of Albanian State Police Mr. Skënder Hita to congratulate him for his recent appointment and to discuss our ongoing cooperation. 🚨🚔

Both sides emphasized their appreciation for the cooperation as fruitful and with good results in strengthening community policing, combatting sexual and gender-based violence and improving crime scene investigations. 🍀

Sweden and Albania also have ongoing police cooperation through the Nordic Police and Customs Liaison Office at our embassy on fighting organized crime through information exchange. This cooperation stands strong and will continue! 🤝

Last week, Ambassador Ström joined and other partners and collaborators in an important discussion on youth priorities and the youth policy ecosystem in Albania. ✊

The Youth Policy Watching 2026 study presented at the event reflects the voices of more than 1,000 young people, youth organisations, and municipalities across the country. Their message is clear: young people are active and willing to contribute, but too often their voices do not reach decision-making processes.

Youth organisations play a vital role in bridging this gap. They support participation, volunteering, and activism, and help translate youth engagement into concrete inputs for institutions and policies. Sweden is proud to support youth organisations such as Epoka e Re through the , recognizing the value of long term engagement. 🍀

The findings of the study, together with the Youth Resolution for Action, offer an opportunity to turn evidence into concrete steps. Albania’s future and its EU path depend on how well young people are empowered today. 🇸🇪🇦🇱🇪🇺
