The Delegation of the European Union to Albania is supporting the country in its path towards integration into the EU. The Delegation manages EU Assistance programmes and informs the Albanian public, decision-makers and opinion-formers about the integration its policies. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Albania is a permanent diplomatic mission. The Delegation was establishe

d in 1993 when the European Commission decided to upgrade its Office of the Special Envoy to a full Delegation in the light of the positive democratic development, which had taken place. The Delegation's main tasks are the following:
• Facilitate the development of political and economic relations between the EU and Albania in the framework of the Stabilization and Association Process (SAP), which is the strategy for helping Albania in its path towards integration into the EU.
• Managing EU Assistance programmes.
• Disseminating information on the EU, informing the Albanian general public, decision-makers and opinion formers about the integration process, EU institutions and its policies. Head of Delegation of the European Union in Albania, since August 2022, is Ms Christiane Hohmann.

Përmes katër performancave në hapësira të ndryshme të Tiranës, projekti reflektoi mbi trupin, punën, kujtesën, arkitekturën dhe pushtetin, duke e kthyer qytetin në një arkiv të gjallë historish, mungesash dhe kujtimesh.

This was “Shadows on the Wall of Time”, the artwork that came to Europe Week by Alban Hajdinaj, Haveit, Lori Lako and Redina Qose, curated by Francesco Scasciamacchia. Through four performances in different spaces across Tirana, the project reflected on body, labor, memory, architecture and power, turning the city into a living archive of histories, absences and memories.

Rusia shpesh perceptohet sikur ka burime njerëzore të pakufizuara.

Por realiteti është ndryshe. Popullsia mashkullore në moshë pune po tkurret nga lindshmëria e ulët, vdekshmëria e lartë, emigrimi masiv dhe humbjet katastrofike në fushëbetejë, me mbi 1.3 milionë të vrarë ose të plagosur që nga viti 2022.

Për të mbushur këtë boshllëk, Rusia ka angazhuar 27,000 luftëtarë të huaj nga 130 vende. Shumë prej tyre janë detyruar ose mashtruar të vdesin për deliret imperialiste të Kremlinit.

Luftëtarët e huaj mund t’i blejnë Rusisë pak kohë. Por një gjë është tashmë e qartë: Rusia po mbetet pa fuqi njerëzore, si në front, ashtu edhe në ekonomi.

Russia is assumed to have limitless manpower.

In reality, its working age male population is eroded: low birthrates, high mortality, mass emigration and catastrophic battlefield losses over 1.3 million since 2022.

To fill the gap: 27,000 foreign recruits from 130 countries. Many coerced or deceived to die for Kremlin's imperial delusions.

Foreign recruits might buy time. But it is already clear: Russia is running out of men for the war and for the economy.

Me mbështetjen e Bashkimit Evropian, gazetarët morën pjesë në fazën e dytë të “Raportimit efektiv mbi procesin e integrimit në BE”, me sesione nga përfaqësues të Delegacionit të BE-së në Shqipëri, Parlamentit Evropian, Kolegjit të Evropës dhe projektit EUIS. Trajnimi u fokusua te qasja në informacion të besueshëm mbi BE-në, këndvështrime praktike raportimi mbi procesin e anëtarësimit të Shqipërisë, si dhe roli i gazetarëve për t’i ndihmuar qytetarët të kuptojnë më mirë reformat dhe ndryshimet që lidhen me rrugën e vendit drejt BE-së.

“Qasja në informacion të verifikuar, të paanshëm dhe të besueshëm është thelbësore për shoqëritë demokratike dhe për t’i ndihmuar qytetarët të kuptojnë procesin e anëtarësimit të Shqipërisë në BE. Kjo vlen jo vetëm për Shqipërinë, por për të gjitha shoqëritë tona. Puna e gazetarëve është jetike dhe media duhet të shihet si një nga shtyllat e shoqërive demokratike sot,” tha Ambasadori i BE-së, Silvio Gonzato.

With support from the European Union, journalists took part in the second phase of “Reporting Effectively on the EU Integration Process”, with sessions by representatives of the EU Delegation to Albania, the European Parliament, the College of Europe and the EUIS Project. The training focused on access to reliable EU information, practical reporting angles on Albania’s accession process, and the role of journalists in helping citizens better understand the reforms and changes linked to the country’s path towards the EU.

“Access to verified, impartial and reliable information is essential for democratic societies and for helping citizens understand Albania’s EU accession process. This applies not only to Albania, but to all our societies. Journalists’ work is vital, and the media should be seen as one of the pillars of democratic societies today,” said EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.

Sot shënohet një moment i rëndësishëm në përpjekjet e Shqipërisë për forcimin e shtetit të së drejtës. Ceremonia përmbyllëse e procesit të vetingut në institucionet e drejtësisë vjen pas nëntë vitesh pune të vendosur për të forcuar integritetin në sistemin gjyqësor shqiptar.

Por reforma nuk përfundon këtu. Ambasadori i BE-së, Silvio Gonzato, dhe Irena Moozová, Zëvendësdrejtore e Përgjithshme në Drejtorinë e Përgjithshme për Drejtësinë dhe Konsumatorët të Komisionit Evropian, vlerësuan progresin e arritur dhe theksuan punën që mbetet përpara në rrugën e Shqipërisë drejt BE-së.

“Standardet e vendosura përmes vetingut duhet të ruhen,” tha Ambasadori Gonzato, duke vlerësuar punën e Komisionit të Pavarur të Kualifikimit, Kolegjit të Posaçëm të Apelimit dhe Operacionit Ndërkombëtar të Monitorimit, të financuar nga BE-ja. Ai u bëri thirrje institucioneve të përhershme të drejtësisë që integriteti, llogaridhënia dhe profesionalizmi të jenë pjesë e punës së tyre të përditshme.

Zëvendësdrejtoresha Irena Moozová theksoi: “Kjo reformë ka treguar se ndryshimi i vërtetë është i mundur kur lidershipi politik, institucionet e pavarura dhe shoqëria punojnë së bashku. Standardet e arritura duhet të mbeten të pakthyeshme, ndërsa nevojitet progres i mëtejshëm për pavarësinë e gjyqësorit, efikasitetin e gjykatave dhe aksesin në drejtësi.”

Today is a notable milestone in Albania’s efforts to strengthen the rule of law. The closing ceremony of the vetting process in judicial institutions marks nine years of determined efforts to strengthen integrity in the Albanian judiciary.

But reform does not end here. EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato and Irena Moozová, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, recognised the progress achieved and pointed to the work that still lies ahead on Albania’s EU path. What comes next is an even harder test: making these achievements last.

“The standards established through vetting must endure,” Ambassador Gonzato said, paying tribute to the Independent Qualification Commission, the Special Appeal Chamber and the EU-funded International Monitoring Operation. He called on Albania’s permanent judicial institutions to embed integrity, accountability and professionalism in the daily work of justice.

Irena Moozova stressed: “This reform has shown that meaningful change is possible when political leadership, independent institutions and society work together. The standards achieved must remain irreversible - and further progress is needed on judicial independence, court efficiency and access to justice.”
