NCCS works to integrate the most disadvantaged groups including rural communities, women, roma community, people living in social exclusion, such as LGBTQ, injecting drug users etc, and strengthen institutions and people capacity to protect and advocate for the protection of their rights and social inclusion. Three pillars of its overall scope of work and strategy in the country are: (1) provisio
n of assistance and training to strength the NPOs capacities (2) provision of services to social excluded communities ; (3) organization of cross-sector initiatives with special focus on gender, health and environment . NCCS aims to work closely with the Albanian people and government as well as other NGOs participating in a variety of projects. Since its creation, National Centre for Community Service is pursuing the following activities towards building a culture for a better healthy and gender oriented community:
Community Development:. National Center for Community Services empowers social excluded community through service provision and improvement of their life skills to better respond to their integration in society. Training: National Center for Community Services provides organizational development and gender training for NPOs working in the health sector, peer-to-peer education and information on HIV/AIDS for diverse targets and other skills to institutions and individual practitioners (health care providers, nurses etc). Advocacy Work: National Center for Community Services supports NPO-s effort working in the health field in the organization and development of a national HIV/AIDS awareness campaign aiming at highlighting the risk associated with HIV and improving living standards of PLWH, advocacy activities at institutions level including Ministry of Health, MoE to include in the education program of primary and secondary level curricula with regard to HIV/AIDS information and monitoring of the implementation of HIV/AIDS law at all institutional level, preparation of comprehensive report and advocating for law improvements and designing of policy changes and strategy in place. Develop Curricula and teaching materials. National Center for Community Services develops and designs training curricula on gender issue and SST diseases for a wide target according to their needs.
