What a special day we had yesterday. Four main Municipalities of the Korçë Region that we have supported over a year, through our Youth Services Centre, are leading local and national efforts to draft and approve Local Youth Action Plans (LYAP).
Yesterday we held the Youth Day 2024 in Korça and with the support of the National Youth Agency, and the Minister of State for Children and Youth Mrs. Bora Muzhaqi, we shared with authorities, young people, CSOs the four LYAPs that we worked so hard together to draft, consult and finalise.
Over 300 young people from rural and urban areas for months worked together with local youth coordinators in the Municipalities of Korçë, Pogradec, Maliq and Devoll, together with our wonderful experts Belioza Çoku and Klaudio Pulaha to consult every aspect of the new youth policy for each partner Municipality.
The results so far are impressive. Our Youth Services Centre for Korçë Region, a new model of service based on the concept of one stop shop for youth education, learning, career advice, counselling, life skills and personal empowerment, social care, vocational training and employment was able to inform, train and support over 2000 young people.
Our media and photography training courses were the most followed up by youth and hence why we also opened yesterday the Youth Photo Exhibition, published the Korça Youth Newsletter and finally hold the Youth Employment and Support Fair.
Next year we will focus on Digital Skills and Employment for Youth, Youth and Media Literacy and Online Safety, while our Youth Services Centre will continue to support every young person in Korçë Region.
