The political right under Trump marginalizes, demeans and dehumanizes us and everyone else who doesn’t fit some theoretical idea of “normal” that doesn’t even exist. The alt-Right (Nazis/Fascists/Totalitarians) want to trample on our rights and our lives, and they don’t give a damn about the planet. The political left is mired in snowflake identity politics and instead of pursuing effective strate
gies is too busy with grand political gestures designed to out-Progressive others. Their stupidity and hatred towards average, middle Americans helped birth the rise of Trump. The two extremes of right-left are mirror images of each other, locked in a dance where the excesses of the one feed the excesses of the other. The horseshoe effect is in full play. Observed objectively and dispassionately, the alt-right and the alt-left are almost indistinguishable from each other. They are both lost in drama and addiction to crisis and are too busy alienating and fighting each other. Meanwhile, the real issues and effective solutions go unaddressed. In this hideous dance, our community - Bi People - are constantly thrown under the bus and written off as collateral damage. We don’t give a damn about anyone’s need to be holier-than-thou or gesture how enlightened or pious they are. We represent the queer majority in its struggle to live open, happy lives of freedom and integrity. Bi people are the true Revolutionaries of Love. We explode boundaries of gender and we love people beyond vanilla and “safe” categories of straight and gay. If you care for real freedom and liberation, we are the page for you. If your need to feel special is greater than the need to see the majority of queer people lead healthy lives, please look elsewhere. If your life is empty and you think bi activism is going to make you important, please go away. If you are a right or left-wing creationist, a person who puts your personal beliefs above empirical science and facts, then please go elsewhere and hang out with evangelicals or social constructionists.
