على هيئة فنجانٍ وقلب، اختار "محمد عبدالله الضنحاني" شعارَ مشروعِه.. صورةٌ تختصر ما أراده لـ«ملاك كافيه» منذ البداية..
من منطقة "دبا" في إمارة الفجيرة، مضى محمد بـ"ملاك كافيه"، تشاركُه أختُه الشغف..عنايةٌ بالتفاصيل، وامتنانٌ لمجتمعٍ أحاط تجربتَه بالمحبة، وطموحٌ يرى في كل خطوةٍ ناجحة بدايةً لما هو أبعد.. حتى غدا ما بدأ على مهل، علامةً صنعت مكانَها في يومِ الناس وذائقتِهم.

Shaped like a coffee cup and a heart, the logo chosen by Mohammed Abdullah Al Dhanhani captures exactly what he envisioned for Malak Café from the very beginning.

From Dibba in the Emirate of Fujairah, Mohammed set out to build Malak Café alongside his sister, who shares his passion. بين مطرقةٍ ومسمار، خطّ راشد سطراً في سيرةِ الفجيرة مع البحر..
حمل إرث الأجداد.. وصاغ منه حرفةً تحفظ هوية المكان و روح أهلِه.. وفي كل قارب يصنعُه راشد القحومي، يكتب على صفحة البحر اسمَ الإمارات.. فتقرأ الشواطئ أثرَ اليدِ التي أخلصت لوطنها.

With hammer and nail, Rashid carved his own chapter in Fujairah’s story with the sea.

He carried forward the legacy of his forefathers, shaping it into a craft that preserves the identity of the land and the spirit of its people.

And with every boat Rashid Al Qahoumi builds, he carries the name of the UAE across the sea — leaving on distant shores the mark of hands devoted to their homeland.

ورث السيد "راشد القحومي" محبة البحر عن أبيه وأجداده، ثم منحها مساراً جديداً حين أسّس مصنع الريّان للقوارب في منطقة "دبا" في الفجيرة عام 2006. ومنذ ذلك الحين.. اتّسعت خبرتُه من صناعة القوارب بمقاساتها المختلفة إلى إحياء السفن التقليدية، وتطوير حلولٍ حديثة في العزل والسلامة نالت اعتماداً دولياً.
ويبلغ فخرُه ذروتَه حين يرى قارباً صنعته أيدي فريقه في الفجيرة يشقُّ عُبابَ بحارٍ بعيدة، حاملاً معه اسمَ الإمارات.. فالصنعة عند راشد إرثٌ يتجدّد بالتعلّم.. تبدأ من محبة البحر، وتمضي كلَّ يوم نحو ما هو أفضل.

Mr. Rashid Al Qahoumi inherited his love of the sea from his father and forefathers. In 2006, he gave that legacy a new direction by establishing Al Rayyan Boats Factory in Dibba, Fujairah.

Since then, his craft has grown from building boats of different sizes to reviving traditional vessels and developing modern solutions in insulation and safety that have earned international certification.

For Rashid, few moments bring greater pride than seeing a boat built by his team in Fujairah sailing across distant seas, carrying the name of the UAE with it.

His craft is a legacy renewed through constant learning — one that begins with a love of the sea and, with each passing day, strives for something better.

"كأنّه مولودٌ ياني جديد"

بهذه الألفة يستدعي السيد "راشد القحومي" يوم العشرين من سبتمبر عام 2007، حين خرج من مصنعه أول قارب صيد.. ما زالت الذاكرة تحمل ملامحَه كما يحمل القلبُ فرحةَ الميلاد. وراء تلك الفرحة.. يقف قاربٌ صنعه راشد بمطرقةٍ ومسمار.. دخله الماء من كل زاوية، وخرج منه راشد بأول درسٍ في الصنعة.. فالبدايات التي نصنعُها بأيدينا تكبرُ معنا، وتبقى الشاهدَ الأول على اللحظة التي وجد فيها الحلمُ طريقَه إلى الواقع.

“It felt like welcoming a newborn into my life.”

That’s how Mr. Rashid Al Qahoumi remembers September 20, 2007—the day the first fishing boat came out of his workshop. He still remembers every detail, and the joy of that moment has never left him.

But behind that success was an earlier boat Rashid had built with his own hands, using nothing more than a hammer and nails. Water leaked in from every side, but that boat gave him his first real lesson in the craft.

The things we begin with our own hands grow with us. And they stay with us as a reminder of that very first moment when a dream finally became real.

للمكان أثرٌ هادئ في عين الفنان.. يُكوّن ذائقتَه، ويمنحه ألوانه، ويعلّمه أن يرى في المألوف وسيلةً للابتكار.
تحمل أعمال جاسم الضنحاني هذا الأثر.. إبداعٌ معاصر صنعته يدٌ ماهرة، ووجدانٌ بقي قريباً من البيئة التي تعلّمَ فيها النظرَ إلى الجمال.

A place leaves a quiet imprint on an artist’s eye, shaping their aesthetic sensibility, lending them its colours, and teaching them to see the familiar as a source of innovation.

"صعب.. ما أقدر إني أوقف"
بهذه الكلمات يختصر الفنان التشكيلي "جاسم الضنحاني" من منطقة "دبا" في الفجيرة صلتَه بالفن؛ شغفٌ بدأ معه في سنوات الدراسة، واتسعَ حتى اتخذَ من بيتِه ورشةً فنية، جمع فيه أدواتَه وخاماته، وجعلَه المكان الذي يحتضن عملَه وإبداعَه.
يعثر جاسم على مادّتِه وقد بدأت الطبيعةُ تشكيلَها قبلَه.. خشبٌ رسمت الأعوامُ عروقَه، وصقلَ البحر بعضَ أطرافه.. لكلِّ قطعةٍ تكوينَها، وقيمتَها التي تزداد بما تحمله من عمرٍ وندرة، حتى تخرج من يده عملاً يحتفظ بروح خامتِه وبشيءٍ من المكان الذي جاءت منه.

“It’s difficult… I just can’t stop.”

With these words, artist Jassim Al Dhanhani, from Dibba in Fujairah, sums up his relationship with art: a passion that began during his school years and continued to grow until he turned his home into an art studio, filling it with his tools and materials and making it a space where his work and creativity could flourish.

Jassim often discovers his materials after nature has already begun shaping them: wood whose grain bears the marks of time, with edges smoothed and weathered by the sea. Each piece has its own form and character, and its value grows with the age and rarity it carries. In his hands, it is transformed into a work of art that preserves the spirit of the material itself, along with something of the place from which it came.

نحتاج أحياناً إلى شخصٍ يعرفُنا جيداً، فيرى فينا ما حجبَه الاعتيادُ عن أعيننا. هكذا جاءت الإشارة الأولى إلى موهبة الفنان التشكيلي "جاسم الظنحاني" من أخيه الأصغر.. كلمةٌ صغيرة فتحت أمامه باباً، ثم تولّى الشغفُ رسمَ ما وراءه.. أمّا ما صنعه بعد ذلك، فكان ثمرةَ أعوامٍ من التجريب والعمل، حتى غدا الفن أسلوبَ حياتِه، وأصبح لكلِّ قطعةٍ تخرج من ورشته بصمةٌ تدلُّ عليه.

Sometimes, it takes someone who knows us well to recognize what we have grown too accustomed to see in ourselves. For Emirati artist Jassim Al Dhanhani, that person was his younger brother, whose simple words first drew attention to his talent. Those words opened a door, and his passion carried him forward. What followed was shaped by years of experimentation, practice and dedication, until art became a way of life and every piece that emerged from his studio bore the mark of his distinctive artistic identity.

قبل أن يستقر هذا المشط المصنوع من عرق اللؤلؤ بين مقتنيات متحف زايد الوطني في أبوظبي، كان ينسج طقساً من الحنان في البيوت الإماراتية.. تتهادى معه أغنيات الجدات.. وتفوح رائحة الحناء، وتكبر البنات على إيقاع موروثٍ تتناقلهُ الأيدي المعطاء.
وفي الفجيرة، ما تزال السيدة "سيده محمد الشريف" من منطقة "مربح"، تُعيد إلى خصلات الشعر دفءَ تلك الأيام، وتوقظ الأهازيج التي رافقتها، فتواصل الحكاية رحلتها بين الحياة و الأثر.

Before this mother-of-pearl comb found its place among the collections of Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi, it was part of a beautiful ritual woven into the fabric of Emirati homes. To the songs of grandmothers and the fragrance of henna, young girls grew up to the rhythm of a tradition lovingly passed from one generation’s hands to the next.

In Fujairah, Mrs. Seeda Mohammed Al Sharif, from the area of Mirbah, still brings the warmth of those days back to every strand of hair, reviving the traditional songs that once accompanied them. And so, the story continues its journey—between living memory and treasured heritage.
