The National Library and Archives: One of most comprehensive archives worldwide, aims to strengthen the sense of unity and national identity and is entrusted with collecting, documenting and translating valuable historical material relating to the United Arab Emirates in particular and the Arabian Gulf states in general. In just fifty-four years; the National Library and Archives has achieved a pioneer status, owing to its use of cutting-edge technology to carry out its mandate. شراكة ثقافية إماراتية صينية نحو آفاق أوسع⁣

⁣شارك الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية في مؤتمر “مستقبل العلاقات الثقافية الإماراتية الصينية”، الذي نظمه مركز أبوظبي للغة العربية بالتعاون مع المجموعة الصينية للإعلام الدولي، ضمن فعاليات معرض بكين الدولي للكتاب 2026.⁣

وأكد سعادة الدكتور عبدالله ماجد آل علي، المدير العام للأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية، رئيس الفرع الإقليمي العربي للأرشيف (عربيكا) أن العلاقات الثقافية بين دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وجمهورية الصين الشعبية تمثل نموذجاً متقدماً للشراكة الحضارية القائمة على الحوار والتبادل المعرفي، بما يعزز التفاهم ويدعم بناء علاقات مستدامة.⁣

وسلط المؤتمر الضوء على أهمية التعاون الثقافي والمعرفي بين البلدين، ودور المؤسسات الثقافية والأرشيفية في حفظ الذاكرة الوطنية، وتبادل الخبرات، وتعزيز الشراكات التي تسهم في ترسيخ الحوار الحضاري والتقارب الثقافي.

UAE–China Cultural Partnership Reaches New Horizons

The National Library and Archives participated in the UAE–China Cultural Relations Conference, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre in collaboration with China International Communications Group, as part of the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair.

H.E. Dr Abdulla Majed Al Ali, Director General of the NLA and President of the Arab Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ARBICA), highlighted the cultural relationship between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China as an advanced model of civilisational partnership founded on dialogue and knowledge exchange, strengthening mutual understanding and supporting sustainable cooperation.

The conference emphasised the importance of cultural and knowledge cooperation between the two countries, as well as the role of cultural and archival institutions in preserving national memory, sharing expertise and strengthening partnerships that foster intercultural dialogue and closer cultural ties.

تدشين كتاب "زايد: رجل بنى أمة" باللغة الصينية خلال معرض بكين الدولي للكتاب 2026

أطلق الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية كتاب "زايد رجل بنى أمة" باللغة الصينية ضمن مشاركته في النسخة الـ 32 من معرض بكين الدولي للكتاب.

ويوثّق الكتاب مسيرة المؤسس والباني الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، طيّب الله ثراه، وإرثه الحضاري، ويستعرض رؤيته في بناء دولة الإمارات وترسيخ قيم التضامن والوحدة والسلام.

وبهذه المناسبة أكّد سعادة الدكتور عبدالله ماجد آل علي، المدير العام للأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية، رئيس الفرع الإقليمي العربي للمجلس الدولي للأرشيف (عربيكا) أن الكتاب يبرز دور الشيخ زايد في بناء الدولة وتعزيز قيم التسامح والتعايش، موضّحاً أن ترجمته إلى الصينية تهدف للتعريف بفكره وقيمه الإنسانية وإبراز تاريخ دولة الإمارات أمام القراء الصينيين.

ولفت سعادته إلى أن هذه المشاركة تتضمن برنامجاً ثقافياً ومعرفياً يعكس عمق العلاقات الإماراتية الصينية ويدعم التعاون الثقافي بين البلدين الصديقين.

Launch of the Chinese Edition of “Zayed, Man Who Built a Nation” at the Beijing International Book Fair 2026

The National Library and Archives launched the Chinese edition of “Zayed, Man Who Built a Nation” as part of its participation in the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair.

The book documents the legacy of The Founding Father, The Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and explores his vision for building the UAE and promoting the values of solidarity, unity and peace.

H.E. Dr Abdulla Majed Al Ali, Director General of the NLA and President of the Arab Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ARBICA), emphasised that the book highlights The Late Sheikh Zayed’s role in building the nation and strengthening the values of tolerance and coexistence. He noted that translating the book into Chinese aims to introduce Chinese readers to The Late Sheikh Zayed’s vision and humanitarian values while showcasing the history of the UAE.

His Excellency also highlighted that this participation includes a cultural and knowledge programme that reflects the depth of UAE–China relations and supports cultural cooperation between the two nations.

A Glimpse of the NLA’s Strong Presence at the Beijing International Book Fair 2026

The National Library and Archives shares images reflecting the NLA’s impactful participation, as it continues its engagement in the 32nd edition of the Beijing International Book Fair, running until 21 June.

The participation contributes to supporting creative cultural industries, strengthening the publishing sector and protecting intellectual property. الأسرة.. البيئة الحاضنة للتميّز والعقول المبدعة

يدعوكم الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية لحضور ندوة افتراضية بعنوان "الأسرة وصناعة المبدعين"، بمشاركة الدكتورة فاطمة الحمادي من مؤسسة التنمية الأسرية، والأستاذة عفاف المنهالي من الأكاديمية الوطنية لتنمية الطفولة، والأستاذة إيمان البريكي من الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية، وذلك يوم الأربعاء الموافق 24 يونيو 2026، من الساعة 11:00 صباحًا حتى 12:00 ظهرًا عبر منصة زوم.

تتناول الندوة دور الأسرة في تنمية الإبداع لدى الشباب، إلى جانب تعزيز مواهبهم وقدراتهم على التطوّر والابتكار، مما يسهم في بناء أجيال قادرة على دفع عجلة نمو وتقدّم الوطن.

The Family: A Nurturing Environment for Excellence and Creative Minds

The National Library and Archives invites the community to attend a virtual lecture titled “The Family and Nurturing Creativity”, featuring Dr Fatima Al Hammadi from the Family Development Foundation, Ms Afaf Al Menhali from the National Academy for Childhood Development and Mrs Iman Al Breiki from the NLA. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM via Zoom.

The lecture will explore the role of the family in fostering creativity among young people, as well as supporting their talents and capacity for growth and innovation, contributing to the development of generations capable of driving the nation’s progress and advancement.

الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية يشارك في معرض بكين الدولي للكتاب 2026

يسر الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية الإعلان عن مشاركته في النسخة الثانية والثلاثين من معرض بكين الدولي للكتاب 2026، الذي يُقام خلال الفترة من 17 إلى 21 يونيو في العاصمة الصينية بكين، وذلك ضمن جناح دولة الإمارات ومن خلال برنامج البيت الإماراتي الذي يقدّم تجربة ثقافية تعكس تنوّع المشهد الثقافي والإبداعي في دولة الإمارات.

يستعرض الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية إسهاماته في حفظ الذاكرة الوطنية ويسلّط الضوء على محطات بارزة في تاريخ العلاقات الثنائية الإماراتية الصينية، وتأتي هذه المشاركة في إطار الجهود الوطنية لتعزيز الحضور الثقافي الإماراتي دوليًا وترسيخ الحوار المعرفي مع جمهورية الصين الشعبية، حيث يُعد معرض بكين الدولي للكتاب من أبرز معارض الكتب في العالم، إذ يستقطب سنويًا آلاف المؤسسات الثقافية من أكثر من 100 دولة ويوفّر منصة واسعة للحوار والتعاون وتبادل الخبرات في المجال الثقافي.

The National Library and Archives Participates in the Beijing International Book Fair 2026

The National Library and Archives is pleased to announce its participation in the 32nd edition of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, taking place from 17 to 21 June in Beijing, China. The participation is part of the UAE Pavilion, through Al Bait Al Emarati, which offers a cultural experience reflecting the diversity of the UAE’s cultural and creative landscape.

The NLA will showcase its contributions to preserving the national memory and highlight key milestones in UAE–China bilateral relations. This participation reflects national efforts to strengthen the UAE’s cultural presence internationally and reinforce knowledge exchange with the People’s Republic of China.

The Beijing International Book Fair is one of the world’s leading book fairs, attracting thousands of cultural institutions from more than 100 countries each year and serving as a major platform for dialogue, cooperation and knowledge exchange in the cultural sector.

صور نادرة توثّق محطاتٍ هامة من ذاكرة الوطن

أهدى معالي محمد أحمد المر، رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة مكتبة محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية مجموعةً قيّمة من الصور التاريخية النادرة التي تعود إلى عام 1967م، في مقدمتها صور توثّق الزيارة الأولى للوالد المؤسس، المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، طيّب الله ثراه، إلى جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية بعد توليه الحكم في إمارة أبوظبي. كما تضم المجموعة صورًا توثّق محطات وموضوعات بارزة في تاريخ دولة الإمارات، من بينها جوانب من جزيرة داس.

ويأتي هذا الإهداء في إطار جهود معاليه لدعم الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية وإثراء مقتنياته بالوثائق والصور التاريخية، بما يسهم في حفظ ذاكرة الوطن وصون إرثه للأجيال القادمة.

Rare Photographs Documenting Significant Milestones in the Nation’s Memory

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, gifted the National Library and Archives a valuable collection of rare historical photographs dating back to 1967. Among them are photographs documenting the first visit of The Founding Father, The Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan after assuming the leadership of Abu Dhabi. The collection also includes photographs capturing prominent milestones and subjects in the history of the UAE, including scenes from Das Island.

This donation comes as part of His Excellency’s efforts to support the NLA and enrich its collections with historical documents and photographs, contributing to the preservation of the nation’s memory and safeguarding its heritage for future generations.

أوضح الدكتور حسن المصعبي أن الأرشيفات الوطنية تحفظ مصادر المعلومات وتتيحها للباحثين وصنّاع القرار، مشيرًا إلى أن التحول الرقمي وتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي عززت دورها في الوصول إلى شريحة أوسع من المستفيدين.

كما أكد على أهمية الفعالية في دعم المؤسسات والاستفادة من الخبرات السابقة لإثراء الدراسات والأبحاث العلمية التي تخدم المجتمع وصنّاع القرار.

Dr Hassan Al Musaibi highlighted that national archives preserve information resources and make them accessible to researchers and decision-makers. He noted that digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies have strengthened their role in reaching a wider audience.

He also emphasised the importance of this event in supporting institutions and drawing on past expertise to enrich studies and scientific research that serve society and decision-makers.
